Beautiful bright red. Highly perfumed, violets, lavender, stone fruit zesty spice. Mature, open knit, smooth tannins, lovely cherry stone spice, dark cherry fruit, damson, blueberry compote, sweet and delicious. Structure is soft and refined, probably at its peak.

Breathed for an hour, upon opening still primary but the tannins are very refined & grainy, at dinner ie 3 hours later it’s supremely elegant with superb depth for a village, very good Burg that’s delicious & open now, if served blind I’m pretty sure will not guess a village …. 93+

Continuing with the rich vein of 2014 reds. Cool, refined on the palate. Red fruits. Vosne spices. Touch brambly. Good balance with a savoury tone and minerality. Lots to enjoy here. Just at the start of its drinking window.

(Bought on release. Perfect fill. Sound cork.) Ridiculously delicious, screams Vosne-Romanee, now comes across as plush and opulent with a back palate lash of minerals. Underlying terroir impression a bit anonymous but this is just a Villages, true to that but this doesn't have the complexity of a premier Cru. Having said that, an opulent (!) 2014 punching above it's weight. Would be a winner at a dinner party given it's immediately attractive nature and lushness. Evolved past the lean way it tasted in early years, maybe at peak if you favor fruit over mature minerals etc. will last and evolve. Great villages.

Bright. Blue and dark berries, with florals and oak just tucked away in the distance. Youthful, yes, but drinks well. The savoury edge keeps you going back for another sip.

Decanted for an hour, served blind, I brought this, medium red, pure Pinot nose of red fruits, floral, pretty, spices, full of energy on the palate, long finish, still very young with acidic bite, lock this in the cellar for at least 3-4 more years

Opened and followed over 5-6 hours. The quality is evident and, while it is delicious now, it is not nearly as open/giving as the 2013 version I had recently. Probably better with another 2-3 years in the cellar.

PNP with friends. Initial oak and reduction which blew off to show high tone dark fruits. Wine is fresh with good weight but in need of some bottle age to integrate the oak.

Certainly more approachable than his dad’s wine. Nose was a bit reductive with red fruit, purple fruit and minerals. Despite I liked this wine, I prefer his dad’s style as the wine is more dense and backward. Bright, juicy and floral. Good weight for a classic 2014 vosne.

Kompakt, men ikke direkte lukket. Mørk frukt, sursøte kirsebær og kirsebærlikør. Lakris og noe treverk. God nese, men noe uforløst for øyeblikket. Hard og kantete i munn også. Tøff vin med substansielle tanniner. Medium pluss utgang. Denne trenger nok fem år for å komme rundt.

Violets, dark-red berries on the nose, with a light tinge of sandalwood. Proper and sleek on the palate, with fruit profile slightly towards the darker spectrum. Good wine, but somehow, it doesn't generate the same excitement as do young Gibourgs and Duroches...

Nydelig village - mørkerød/svart frukt, flott dybde og lengde, litt markerte tanniner på utgang fortsatt etter et par timer i karaffek, vent et par år eller luft veldig godt. Vakker til brissel og entrecote. Vinens Leicester.

Starter litt trangt, men denne går raskt inn i en nydelig parfymert sexy Pinot-duft. Lys rødfrukt, jordbær, grantaneple og lekker spice. Denne synger virkelig på nesa. Elegant og forførende. Slank med klar frukt av høy kvalitet. Medium konsentrasjon og sitrende syre. Pen nerve her.

Slightly thin and less lush than what is normally the case with Cathiard and with lots of perfume and raspberries. A little bit of oak, but very drinkable. Better than the 2009 but not quite up to the 2013. 91-92 pts.

SLDS November 2016: Rose petals, blackberry, white florals - youthful and attractive on the nose. Structured on the palate, with quite a sleek fruit profile. Long and very good wine that changed quite a bit in the glass, showing more with each sip. Highly enjoyable.

Better than many GC, 1er Cru
Complex and Elegant
It's not as ordinary as most villages.

Cathiard Vosne-Romanee 2014.
Lukter vakkert her også, om enn et knepp bak 13 og 15.
Stram og litt kantete på smak nå.
Trenger tid. 90-91p

Really needs more time. Keep the other 4 bottles in the cellar for another 4-8 years.
