Actually liked this more this time when compared with chateau st jean cinq cepages. This blew the 02 away. I guess napa won that round. The fruit was powerful and expressive exploding with blackberry pie, cherry & creme brûlée. Well rounded, soft and polished but not overly dense. I wish it had more structure or character at this point. Nice finish & integrated acidity & tannins.

Fruit started to take a backseat to a bit of leather and pencil shavings however cherry & blackberry showing up. Nicely balanced with the fruit still up front. The tannins have mellowed but still offer up structure & provide a backbone. Acidity was nice and the finish was awesome. Well balanced offering nice complexity & beautifully done. Very good. Still in its window. I'd drink this up for another few yrs.

Had to run it through the Venturi twice and then let it sit. Finally it opened up. Had it with pasta and meatballs in Rao's marinara sauce. Not too shabby.

not bad but not as expected. This was the last bottle i have and was looking forwardto the wine with a great strip steak. the second bottle of Elyse Niro Misto was far better at half the price.

I've been waiting for this bottle to come alive for a couple of years now. This was the first time that I truly enjoyed drinking it. It's time to drink and it doesn't seem that it will age much longer, but the bouquet is now fully coming alive.

BBQ at Palmero - June 2008 (My house): Classic ruby color with intense red fruit on the palate, smooth tannins. I don't care for the sweet vanilla smell typical of American Oak-aged Cabs.

Really pleasant surprise given the professional ratings. I wonder if they rated it too early. Subdued nose for about 30 minutes, then bright ripe rasberries and currant. Medium tannins. Drinking really well right now. Wish I had more - picked it up for 30 bucks

First few bottles were unispired. Last two bottles have been much improved. Red fruit but tannins are swinging into balance. Previous bottles rated below 90, these two I give a 91.

Bought a case cheap and the first 2 bottles didn't motivate me to write a note. This bottle did - cherry fruit w/ a little smoke. Light tannins but an enjoyable wine. Not intellectual or complex but in fair balance.

Straightforward cab. Primary fruit characteristics, not complex. Black cherry, slight notes of tobacco as it opended up. Nothing offensive but not memorable either. I expected more from a vintage of this pedigree in napa.

Part of a vertical, oldest consumed. Still had some tannins with good fruit, nice balance. We thought better than the 2003.

Nice red wine. Dark red color with smooth full bodied taste. Nothing overly complex but very enjoyable. Everyone at table liked this bottle.

Enjoyed at Aaron's Atop Ala Moana for 1 mo. anniversary
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot
Nose: Soy, good dose of soft oak, nice spice notes, hints of raspberry peaking through
Body: clear; ruby-colored; medium bodied
Taste: Violets; Sweet finish - strawberry - finish lingers for a good 15-20 seconds.

Nose is weak. Subdued black cherries, currants with medium tannins. Some age may smooth the tannins but not enough flavor to matter.
