Opened 30 minutes in advance. Slightly annoying wax seal. Funky aroma of rhubarb with cherry underneath. Flavors of plum and apple up front, slightly sappy cherry finish with a bit of nail polish.
As noted elsewhere, reduction (or whatever) on first opening which quickly fades with air. It's still there at 30 minutes, but barely. Once that clears what's left is a robust, fairly well integrated, slightly funky, but definitely pleasurable wine.

A year down the road, this is just beautiful. The nose has a discrete feral side that adds to the attraction, but the main features here are the purity of nerello fruit, and the dark lava minerality. Sicily's juiciest blood oranges seem to have modelled for the acidity, which does wonders on our salivary glands. The tannins are certainly grippy, but not too dominant. The alcohol is restrained for an Etna red, around 13,5% abv. All in all, it's the kind of wine that sparkles with life and energy.

At this stage, this needs a solid 3 hrs of air/decant. Nose was very stinky and reduced, with strong red fruits, cola/cinnamon, and a light green. The stink if very typical of natural wines I've had. Medium bodied, primary, moderate drying tannins, solid acidity. Taste had good red fruits, good mineral middle, some light green with a touch of sour on the finish. As stated, it needs a decant now, but will last 8-10 years easy.

I think this is the weakest wine from this producer I have had. It was rather soft and formless with generic red fruits. Not flawed or anything, just kind of lifeless.
Bright, fresh, pure fruit. A bit reduced and funky. Round tannins in mouth and finish. Needs air to burn off funkiness + few more years in bottle to add complexity. First time with their wines outside a tasting.

Needs a short decant for reduction to blow off. A slightly animal expression on the nose, with ground walnuts and cinnamon stick, over finely perfumed dark-red nerello fruit. Amiable palate with all components in balance, not at all heavy, nor offensively tannic. Drinks really well at this early stage.
Just like this one, all the 2014 Etna reds from Anna Martens are beautiful wines.

This bottle just as bad, so not thinking it's a flaw. Tastes like it came from an outhouse in the Loire.

Reduced. Needs a couple hours' air. Then, excellent.

Unbearably funky the first day. Thought perhaps some air would help. On the second day, it was so putrid, it actually made me gag.

Heavy on acid, under ripe fruit and pith.
