Tasted October 2, 2007. Bottled under Stevin. “Fish Label”. Opened and served immediately. Straw color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of apricots, lychee, orange and some mixed florals. Flavors of juicy orange followed by so peach and other citrus fruits towards the short to medium finish. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink or hold over the medium term. Good QPR.

Entry level, mass market Kabinett from the esteemed Selbach-Oster house that smells faintly of candied ginger and white flowers while striking a deeper note of honey. Just a light touch of sweetness accompanies the apple flavor, and if this is not whipsmart, the acidity gives off a friendly finger snap. Excellent value! Went nicely with a lamb schwarma sandwich with rice and lentils.

Oh, man, is this some tasty riesling... Pretty apples and pears on the nose... You get some stones and minerals, and then the apples and honeysuckle follow behind and build on that. Not to be outdone, the minerals come fighting back, along with a little sweetness and great acidity on the tail end, and the finish manages to work it all together and throw in some refreshment as well. What a wine for this price. Huge winner. One of my top whites under $20. Actually, one of my top wines under $20. Lots of fun. You just want to down it, but it's too good. It makes you slow down...

Aging nicely. More oily than before, but many layers of flavor: citrus, honey, flower notes. Really nice.
