On day 1, this was light to medium weight and slightly restrained. By day 2, it had opened up considerably and had put on weight. Overall, a very good petit château claret which should improve over the next few years. Try again in 2 to 3 years.

PnP. Very dark cranberry, with good viscosity. Attractive nose right off the bat: very floral. Palate is just OK, but nothing special. A bit disappointing today; I hope further age with bring this rather disjointed wine together, and smooth out the overly crisp palate of this wine. 5-12-14-7: 88/100.

Quite a deep colour; soft, well rounded plum/blackberry fruit, youthful still but the tannin now seems to be well integrated. Very good for a wine with a simple Bordeaux appellation.

From magnum. Decanted for at least two hours. Not up to my previous experience. Dark with red tears, but somewhat herbal and green on the nose this time, which detracts. Same in the mouth, but that is not to say that this wine does not have its charms. It does. I just prefer fruit to herbs and veggies. No reason to wait on this, I feel like it is mature, but perhaps more bottle age will resolve some of that which puts me off tonight. 4-11-15-7: 87/100.

Popped and poured. Quite dark red, more or less opaque. Nice mineral complexity to the fruit in the nose. Medium body, good red fruit in the mouth, a tad sharp but not off-putting. Decent finish. 5-12-16-8: 91/100. Update after 24 hours of air in the cellar: This has gotten even more impressive, especially in the mouth, where it has become more silky, suave and sophisticated, and sports a sexy vanilla/mocha/chocolate-covered cherries combo that segues beautifully into the finish. This is, in a word, delicious, and punching WAY WAY above its so-called station. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

Mid-weight, elegant claret with plum and raisin fruit and still some light tannin; enjoyable now but should be better in a year or two when the tannin is less evident.

A wine which improved steadily in the glass as we drank it, with quite rich, raisiny fruit, elegant and balanced with no hard edges. Attractive now but will keep.

Nice nose with red candied raspberry fruit and some florality. You feel the 15% Cabernet Franc. The palate was quite tannic and full at first with some heat but it settled down, especially with cheese. Good acidity. More on the red fruit side. Despite a touch of heat on the back end, it’s still quite elegant and lighter in weight compared to the leftover Carmenere we had while still maintaining some ripe power and complexity. Some oak spice at the end. The mid-palate is nice, but the back end needs time to integrate. 90+. Could be 93 if the nose opens up more and the alcohol settles down because the feel is really nice and the flavor profile is nice. Some critics have compared it to being more like a Burgundy. They make around 5,500 cases of this and it comes from vineyards north of Fronsac. https://winediplomats.com/

Silky and lush, the fruits are ripe, sweet and pure. The wine is round, medium bodied and displays sweet red cherries and licorice at its core. You can drink this with pleasure now, or age it for a few years.

Blending 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the wine delivers a sweet, black raspberry character coupled with thyme and fresh cherries, a soft, medium bodied palate feel and a sweet, cherry and plum finish that will drink well early.

Fresh and vibrant. Very good now and probably won't improve much. This wine remains a great value year after year.

Weekly tasting group RWP #336; Six whites and six reds plus one extra (@ BS): In the bouquet some toast and a lot of oaky impressions. On the palate juicy dark and red berries, good and fresh acidity, some smoke and a good length. Really nice wine.
