  • Mas Doix rocks! Superb smooth powerful red: blackberry, dried black fruit, cedar, plum, fig, coffee, black olive, graphite, full body, velvety long finish.

  • Served at dinner party, no formal note. Big and plush with ripe dark fruit and a mineral backbone, the 15% abv was a slight detraction. (90-92)

Verðmiðinn er hins vegar mjög hár, ca. 18.000 fyrir 2013, sem mér finnst of hátt fyrir vínið.

  • Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby with just the slightest edge browning. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of black raspberry, boysenberry, charcoal, leather, and Asian spice. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium+ tannin, medium+ body, medium+ intensity, 15.0% abv is not noticeable- feels 14-14.5% on my palate, with developing flavors of black raspberry, spice, and leather with a medium+ finish.

    Balance: Excellent
    Length: Excellent
    Intensity: Excellent
    Complexity: Excellent

This has everything going for it this evening, hitting on all cylinders. Showing some tertiary characteristics but, at the same time, quite youthful. I've recently been sensitive to high alcohol, but this carries it's 15% wonderfully. Currently entering it's long, 5+ year, drinking window. Just an all-around great wine.

  • Still incredibly young. Still ruby in colour, and mostly primary and secondary characteristics. Ripe black cherry, earthy, a touch of dried fruit, nutmeg, toast. Wonderful poise and balance, fine chalky tannins, cherry, plum, toast. Everything is in its right place. Ripe fruit, integrated oak, some development. Stunning how young this is. Plenty of depth and structure to improve over the next 5 years. Outstanding

  • Just bursting with layers of juicy, dark fruit. Not harsh after a 4 hour decant, but not quite ready. Really needed the ribeyes that we enjoyed it with. I'll wait a year to open my next bottle.

  • Great Priorat, yet tad too young: cherry, clove, plum, prune, tobacco, soft vanilla, medium plus body, long finish. Wining with Bas.

  • This wine is just unreal.
Youthful bright magenta edge, deep red core.
Aromas of ripe cherry, cassis, blackberry, and that trademark Priorat slate/stone/granite.
On the palate, it’s medium to full bodied with grippy tannin and Moderate acidity.
Wow. This will last another 25 years easily. But it’s hard to resist now!

  • Drank over two days. This is in a restrained phase, with subtle nuances of minerals, dark fruit, herbs, and earth. I would hold and see if it develops into something more generous. Definitely possible upside.

  • Consumed with friends at our lake cabin, note from memory. Pop and pour, consumed over an hour. Great balance showing dark fruit and mineral characteristics, great length and wonderful finish.

  • Method: tasted blind; 68 degrees; Cab glass

Look: medium purple; medium amount of medium speed legs

Nose: raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, wet gravel, red licorice; not particularly expressive

Palate: raspberry, raspberry jam, cherry Jolly Rancher; long finish of mineral, dried leaves, pepper; medium body; medium tannins; pretty silky mouthfeel; high- acidity

Overall: Good mouthfeel with good, concentrated fruit; however, the wine is very primary and simple to me. I was completely shocked when I found out how much this cost and saw the stellar CellarTracker reviews. To each their own, but for me, this wine was very good, but not great or noteworthy.

  • Bright red fruits followed by fennel and provence herbs. Young tannins and acidity in the mouth. Thyme on the retro olfaction. Still young. I would wait 2-3 years to open it.

  • Yowza. Big step up over the 14 Salanquez as good as that is. More oak. More fruit. Better nose. Red fruit centric. Vanilla. Ripe fleshy red fruit. Cranberry. God that’s good. Will cellar well 2018-2025+

  • Bonito color rojo brillante tonalidad granatosa, ribete violáceo bien vivo, de buena capa tirando a alta y gruesa lágrima medianamente tintada.
