Shockingly good. Had next to a 2014 Maybach and Matthew Wallace. This more than held its own. Don’t remember what I paid for it, but I think it was well under $100. If so, I’d buy a case more. Nice work Turley.

This has vastly improved since I tasted it 5 years ago. The tannins have resolved and the rich fruit is now up front and forward. It pours a dark purple The nose is a rich mocha/chocolate with just a hint of eucalyptus and dark berries. The palate is full and long with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso, dark berries and mint. The tannins are fully integrated and barely noticeable. This is drinking beautifully now, perhaps at its peak. Its wonderful. I would be worried about cellaring this much longer.

We open this wine about once a year to see how it has changed over time. Dark in the glass, with fruit flavors to match. Rich, dark plum, blackberry, black cherry and black currant. We compared and contrasted with a Carmel Valley 2014 Cab, which was much brighter cherry and quite acidic compared to this one which, frankly, tasted like an older wine.

Appearance: medium garnet. Nose: medium intensity of raspberry (ripe at first, then cooked - in your face!), leather, dried herbs, blackberry, plum, black cherry, tobacco. Palate: dry, high acidity, high tannin, medium alcohol, full body. Medium flavour intensity of cooked raspberry, cooked black cherry, tobacco. Long finish. Conclusion: very good to outstanding.

Medium body cab mostly red berries. Restrained nose of cherries (barely evident) with a smooth mouthfeel with slightly evident tannin's on the finish. This is not a very viscous juice as it is much more elegant. Certainly a more classic Cab style not big or fruit forward.

A beautifully evolving Cabernet that has only improved in the last few years. Plum notes to start with a slight amount of tobacco at mid palette. Ends with slight amount of blueberry. Very balanced all through which is a testimony to its wine making.

Nicely balanced tannins now. If you're expecting a run-of-the-mill cab, you'll be surprised. Lots of fruit on both the nose and palate. Medium body. The surprise, at least to me, was the amount of spice and herbal notes. Really nice wine.

I took this to a friends 8/18/18 tasting group dinner. It had a rich, expressive bouquet of cassis, black cherry, blueberry, licorice, menthol and spice aromas. The palate was soft, focused, smooth and dry with flavors of black cherry, black currant, blueberry, licorice, spice and minerals.

Took about 40 minutes to blow off the sourness from opening, which may have been because the cork wasn't awesome. But once cleared, it was smooth and full of cherry flavors, but virtually no finish. Pleasant, though - a nice soft cab, just not spectacular.

Not sure any one could identify this as cab in a blind tasting. Very fruity start, nonexistent tannins and fruits seemed to disappear with more air. I like it but not something to grab when you are thinking cab.

Color is not especially deep. Aromas of chocolate covered cherries, black raspberries, white flowers. Some heat (alcohol, touch of acetone) comes through on the nose as well. The palate really did not make me think napa cab. Tannins are present, but more bitter than they are weighty. However, there is good tension from the acid on the palate that still gives this wine decent structure.

Big notes of candied strawberry, cedar, watermelon rind, forest floor. A bit of heat on the finish. Blind you would never guess Cab. Young, sweet, tannic. Nothing like a classic cab as noted below. Turley Zins are mostly worth it, but this cab is a mess. Bad and overpriced.
This is my first bottle, opened to satisfy my curiosity and compare against an earlier 2010 Bordeaux. There is no mistaking this from anywhere other than California: a volcano of rich fruit erupts from the glass. Its color is dark ink. The nose is of cedar, tobacco, leather and sweet dark berries. It has an exuberant palate that explodes with flavors of blackberry jam, blueberries, tobacco and eucalyptus. The tannins, though present are subdued and in the background. Rich, full bodied, raw with long finish. This wine needs more bottle time to settle down and have the explosive fruit meld with the tannins, soften the edges and develop some nuance. Would revisit in 2-3 years and retry in 2019-2020.

Opens like a zin when it first opened. Fruit everywhere. Settles down after 2 hr decant and was brilliant the next day. Good solid tannins with a bit of spice. Fruit hangs on and occasionally kicks you in the teeth out of nowhere. This is not your fathers cab. Paired with pizza and the little kick of spice paired nicely.
Fruit forward and mostly smooth with a little acidity. Tannins are not over the top. Nice inky cab, dark red, red berries on the nose and mouth. Good now. Bet will age well.

A lot of tannin, for sure -- but still extremely drinkable right now. I believe it will improve for 2-5 years (though it's unlikely I'll be able to prove that, as this is too luscious to last that long in my cellar). Lots of berries and some jam. Excellent balance. Lovely wine.
