I liked this, but clearly not as much as Galloni or some other reviewer‘s here. It was very good, but didn’t stand out relative to other excellent Hartford zinfandels I have had. This one was maybe a touch sweeter than previous wines I’ve had from them, which already bump up against my threshold for that.

Opened this bottle to enjoy at a friend's "Social Distancing" 50th Birthday Party. The wine pours a very dark purple with no current evidence of bricking. The wine has a medium mouth feel and great overall flavors. What stands out for me about this wine is its elegance with no harsh edges or overpowering tannins. This is not overly extracted or "raisiny" or with an intense black pepper in profile. The oak is well integrated at this stage. My friend and I drank the entire bottle over an hour given how balanced the wine is...simply a magnificent bottle. I honestly do not see this bottle getting any better!!!

Very seldom open a Zinfandel this young, but all the great reviews peaked my interest. Decanted two hours, was still a bit grapy when first tasted, not a lot of Zinfandel character, but over a two hour lunch, just kept getting better and better. Loads of rich, concentrated fruit, blackberries, black cherries, and black raspberries, with plums, hints of pepper, minerals, and floral. Complex Zinfandel, well balanced, and a long finish. Delicious! i agree with the hype and can't wait to open more bottles, but I'm waiting 3-4 years for the next one...

Kick-ass, if I may say. Both nose and palate have layers of complexity. Blueberry, blackberry and lots of spice. Surprisingly not hot given the almost 16% ABV. Tons of fruit on the palate and finish.

One of the finest Zins I have consumed thus far! I’m a huge Carlisle fan and receive 4 cases a year. But this Hartford Zin is more structured, layered, balanced, and integrated oak than any Carlisle, Turley, or Bedrock Zin. Served after Thanksgiving dinner with desert! Definitely was the WOTN.

Complex nose with dark fruit and spice. The palate is amazing with layers of dark fruit, yet not jammy. The well integrated tannins provide a long and complex finish. One of the best zins I have ever had.

KEVINTUCKER nailed this wine's description. Flavor profile takes me back in time, prior to Robert Parker influencing winemakers to craft their zinfandels as plummy in-your-face-fruitbombs. Excellent. Marvelous. Superlative.

Still a little young, but drinking exceptionally well.
I decanted the bottle for roughly one hour and was surprised by the amount of sediment in such a young wine--then read the notes that this is unfiltered.
Slight tobacco hint early, fading with time. Very strong fruit expression, but not a fruit bomb like some NoCal zins. The strength and depth of flavor are exceptional, and likely to be even better in 3-5 years. I'm holding the rest of the case until then.
This is my favorite wine from Hartford, which is high praise.

Past its time. One-dimensional jammy, no balance of fruit to acid and tannins.

Claret-like as zins go. Nice drinking, good flavors. Drink any time.
