Kerosene, lime, subtle floral notes. Not bad but looking more developed than expected with the acidity quite soft and the body looking quite rounded, I would like and expect a bit more freshness and zing still present at this age.

Classic petrolly Riesling nose. On teh palate this was somewhat lighter than I'd expected with refreshing citrusy character and good acidity. Matched well with a selection of Hors d'Oeuvres. A little shorter than I'd hoped.

Pale lemon colour. Pronounced aromas of lime, kerosene, wax, honey. Developing. Dry, high acidity, very mineral palate, pronounced flavours similar to the nose, medium body, medium (-) alcohol, long finish. Very good. Very fresh with acidity and fruit to age further, but its already delicious - why wait? Surprised by the other tasting notes as everyone agreed this was delicious and drinking beautifully.

Peculiar. Very muted flavour profile, muddy rather than crisp or sharp, and after it warmed up it had a hint of camembert odour faintly floating on the aftertaste. It didn't taste flawed though, at least not in any way I've had before.

Great to have the opportunity to purchase this Oz Riesling with a little age, so I am a regular Wigan purchaser. Unfortunately the fine winemaking on display in the glass cannot mask the warmth of the 2012 vintage. Beautiful colour, pungent lime brûlée and petrol nose but the palate is simply too rich, with a clipped finish that is overtly acidic. Almost oily in its intensity. I suspect this wine will develop quickly, acidity notwithstanding.
2016 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting & Trophy Wines Lunch (Olympic Park, Homebush): (bronze medal; 87p) {screwcap, A$28} This is a alarmingly vintage-sensitive label. Despite the vintage reputation, this is very advanced in aroma, the lime character drenched in kerosene. The palate has lots of simple and overt lemon characters, rather washed-out; light/medium-bodied and dry, but sadly short-finishing. Possibly a bit dumb, but it doesn’t even really tantalise the palate in any particular way. The contrast with the ‘lesser’ preceding vintage is striking.

My last bottle (of a case of six). I have enjoyed every one. A crisp, balanced, refreshing wine. Great with many foods. Excellent.

Quite a pale yellow, with hints of lime on the nose and palate. Long with some crisp acidity. Seemed surprisingly youthful to me.

Green apples, slight petrol, chalky nose. Crisp, dry palate. Decent but not amazing. Give it a few more years to see if it develops further.
