Last of these - paired with a Zind-Humbrecht 2004 pinot gris and this clearly outshone it! Rich, sweet but not sugary or cloying, long finish. Great with cheese

No formal note: NYE dinner, served with sautéed foies gras and beetroot. A knockout combination. Remember nice herbal notes, great texture, fantastic length.

Very nice. Beautify golden color. Nose of apple, light baking spice, some quince. Taste was nicely dry, with baked apple, some light creme brulee, light spiciness. Good minerality in the middle with a slight bitterness as it warmed. Acidity and alcohol was hidden very well by the fruit and complexity in the wine.

Gold color; Deep nose with ripe tropical fruit and flowers, not too expressive but nice; Rich, ripe, big wine, layered and quite complex, good viscousity, and a touch of sweetness. Long finish. Not shy at 14.5%, but very nicely balanced. Went well with Eran's eggplant soup and pasta with cod. We all liked it.

Light golden color. Floral with grapefruit notes, full mouthfeel (14.5%...) but well balanced and with a zingy acidity. Finishes just a bit sweet, but again with that great acidic backbone, with medium length. Went well with the halibut cheeks.

BAWE does Alsace (Oakland, CA): Apple, sprite, some RS. Less concentrated than previous ['01 Weinbach Alternbourg Cuvee Laurence]. Young. Spicy, becoming more so with time in the glass.
