Liked it much better than the first two I've had. The nose has picked up some barnyard funk with time that has finally given it more than one-dimension. Don't see it getting any better with age, but I also said that 2 years ago. Pleasantly surprised.

C: Transparent red N: Strawberry, raspberry with nice hints of blackthorn giving the wine a more adult character compared to the typical jammy new worldd Pinot. Wrapped around all this are some typical stable tones. All in all a very sniffable wine. P: Nicely balanced, red dry fruit with a good acidity and some white pepper giving the wine character and structure. Long nice finish.
Had it together with breast of duck with a (sweet) cherry sauce which proved to be the ultimate context for this american.

Light body, strong strawberry flavor yielding to lemon and slight tart cherry. Drank over 4 hours and decanted 30-60 miutes prior. Fruit much more evident as time wore on. I enjoyed my last glass of this alot. 2nd or third ABC I have had, this one was on the lighter side especially considering the vintage. Drink now as I do not feel the depth will age it longer, also beware of other wines you may have over the night as this is a lighter one and can be overshadowed by a heavyier bodied wine. Very good flavor just not an overwhelming wow.

Consistent with prior note. I seem to be consistentl less satified with base level domestic pinots. Not the case with other varietals/bleends. Changing tastes?

Nice expressive nose - plum, earth, and something else that reminds me of dried fruit (maybe dried apricots). . Medium bodied, i taste cherries and other red fruits. Some bitterness on the midpalate with a decent finish.

Same review as my first bottle. Very high alcohol in both the nose and flavor. Decanted for about an hour before drinking, then purposely paired w/grilled spicy Polish sausages, but this Pinot easily over-powered the food. I will not buy this wine again.

Big pepperoni nose. Thick, meaty and hearty pinot berries, chewy, fairly sweet and rich, but the acid makes it a real gulper. Big wine for 16 bucks. No points for typicity.

82% Pinot Noir/18% Mondeuse......whatever that is! Light garnet in color, slight hint of spice on the nose, not overly complex by any means but a moderately good QPR pinot quaffer at the $15.99 price range.

Red berry fruit profile with touch of cola and subtle meaty/smokey undertones. Nicely balanced. Nice acid profile. Solid, mid bodied, balanced pinot. Happily buy again.

Pinots + Syrah with the Soals (My crib): Nothing wrong with this wine as it has pinot characteristics. For $16 at KL wines, this is a good deal. You get some bing cherry, raspberry....nothing overripe. Compared to the other wines on the table, this couldn't compete but nevertheless, good value. Nothing special though.

Drank a bottle of this on vacation in Kauai. Medium-purple, full bodied with plenty of cherries, raspberries & cola with a rounded mouthfeel. A simple yet solid PN that delivers good value.

Really like this PN. The nose was very complex. Flowers, cherries and earth. Medium bodied. Wouldn't hold in cellar long. Tastes of cola, violets, blackberries. Paid $46 at Truluck's in Austin. For a restaurant wine this seemed very good value.

Tasted by glass at a restaurant in chitown. Medium bodied. Earthy berry fruit with touch of cola and spice. Very well balanced -- intriguing enough to beg some interest, but not so much so that you can't throw it back with ease. Opened nicely with a few minutes of air. Very smooth mouthfeel. Happily buy and drink again.

First glass was tightly closed. Nose of expected vanilla and cherry, although not as deep as other PN's of this caliber. Opened over a couple of hours to reveal herbal notes like tea and mint. Has a nice mouthfeel, but the slight heat in the finish keeps this rating below 90 since I like my PN's a little smoother.

A little tight on opening. Set it for an hour and it opened a bit. A little thinner than 2004 Santa Barbara. I'm going to cellar our other bottle another two years. Good but not great now.

Displays solid Pinot-ness in the nose. Simple and fairly satisfying wine. A bit of earth and suitable tannin, this wine would make do in a pinch. A bit of tar and blackberry rounds it out. Not a wine I'd seek out, but fairly enjoyable for a simple Pinot.

Thought this was pretty good. Slight mothball aroma, but in a good way. Very varietally characteristic, kind of sweet and sour, some cola flavors. Muted but deifnitely there tannins. Definitely sort of fungal. All in all, not an out of body experience or anything, but very solid.
