Well past its drinking window but still absolutely delicious, dried fruit, mocha, pot pourri. A nice acidity adds freshness, great balance a very enjoyable bottle.

Full, balanced, black centre. Nose a true reflection of taste. Good with food. Enjoyable mix of bramble and red fruit. At it’s peak, no sign of added sophistication, but great fruit and enjoyment now.

Dark at the core. Plum and clove on the nose. Fruity, plum, prune, peppery; mouth-drying tannins. Rather a lot of oak. I am sure it has a good few years ahead. Biggish.

Fruity nose, plum and dark berry fruit, also mint and tea. Juicy in mouth and youthful though not tannic. Liquorice back end, and heavy-feeling at 14.5%. For a ‘GS’ in the GSM mould I’m finding it a bit unknitted. But also I suspect it will improve a lot over time. The label says it will do ‘careful cellaring’ for ‘up to 6 years’ but it’s already 7 and I am thinking it will go at least another 3-4.
Dark purple rim, black centre. Grenache leads in the juicy fruit nose, but Shiraz evident in the taste. Full and peppery, but juicy fruit again on the long aftertaste. Smooth. Copes well with food. At its recommended drinking age now, but no signs of fading. An enjoyable hint of vanilla at the end.

Red rim, dark red centre, hint of purple. Little sediment. Spiced berry nose. Full weight, quite acid, very juicy. Not developing any complexity, but very enjoyable and good with food.

Quickly settled down after opening. Still purple at the edges and expected this to be too young. Initially smoky and peppery, then any harshness quickly disappeared (after just an hour), revealing a clean nose of black fruits (strong fruit mid palate) + a bit of burnt toast. Stood up very well to ribs and will go well with winter stews. This is ready to drink now and will easily last the next 5 years.

Not the best Wallace I’ve had but nonetheless still enjoyable. Usual tar, tobacco, blueberries notes on both nose and palette. Better on day 2. Well balanced but felt something was missing. I still prefer the 2004 and 2012 vintages.

Medium ruby, nice fruity aroma but doesn't hit you over the head. Long legs, which is no big surprise as 14.5% alcohol. Mostly front-end flavor, but very quaffable...which could be dangerous.

I find it hard to rate this wine. For what it is, it's great. But I just don't like grenache as I find it too sweet, and so the Wallace Grenache Shiraz for me is just not a wine I love. But if you do like the Grenache Shiraz blend, then this is definitely a wine worth trying! I love the Glaetzer straight Shiraz/Syrah wines, especially the Amon-ra, which makes the Wallace hard for me to rate!
I can see why James Halliday gave it 95/100... It's a good wine for the price... just not for me. Aged 2 years, drunk fresh and also after 1hr decanting. The sickly sweetness settles with decanting and is much more mellow

strong body, strong nose, a very strong new world syrah, like a bomb of dark fruit. no variety, tannins was not so evident, a nice wine for repas.

Light fruity nose. Lots of Grenache influence. Not bad QPR. Drinks well now.
