Pinot Noir at Moncur (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Polished oak, vanilla especially backed by slight cherry, spice and stalky hints…the stalks are more evident on the palate, the fruit is sour as well and the juxtaposition of this and the new oak is not a happy place for my palate. Nah

Festival of Alex - Henschke Hill of Grace Tour: Roses and stalks, musk and cranberry. Light fruit weight but there is some layered depth as well. Nice length and a good light grip. Well put together wine that will likely develop some more interest over the coming years.

Brief note, trade tasting. Shows baking spice and cherry, with more tannin that expected. Site is planted to D5, V12 Martini clones.
