  • This wine is truly delightful. Its aroma boasts distinct notes of petrol (a personal favorite), alongside hints of pineapple and honey. Refreshing and sweet, it tantalizes the palate with a lively acidity that leaves you longing for another sip. I find myself irresistibly drawn to its exquisite balance of acidity and sweetness—it's simply outstanding.

  • Expressive nose displaying sweet ripe yellow fruit, apple, pear, honey, a hint of mint and petrol, lanoline, white chocolate and mineral. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated sweet white fruit, rich and oily but also showing good precision and focus, good acidity, strong mineral, and a long oily sweet white fruit driven finish. This is oily, rich and noticeably sweet but strong limestone mineral and acidity help maintain good balance and precision.

  • Wunderbar Auslese, marked, most notably, by that waxy glycerin mouthfeel. 7.5% ABV.

  • Very cold and strict nose, hint of lemon... Very very fresh white fruit, very elegant

  • Citrusy nose with honeydew and peach. Palate has citrus, nuts, crunchy pencil shavings, and minerals. Great Riesling. If I were a bee, this wine would attract me to yellow tulips nodding in the southern wind! 92 points.

  • Med + nose of ripe peach and lime. Excellent acidity to balance quite a bit of resudual sugar. Finish is long with some minerality which could be stronger. Would love to try this in 4-5 years.

  • Intense spearmint nose with a white peppery accent, somewhat obscuring what might be thought of as “traditionally fruity” notes. Similar issues on the palate. Moderate finish. Fascinating, but I don’t care for this much - difficult to get past the piquant mint which overwhelms a bit. It's entirely possible this reflects nothing more than my unfamiliarity with excellent young Riesling, so no score and take my comment with a grain of salt.

  • Very young and primary, very lithy, nice acidity to balance the sweetness, lots of stone fruit, tropical notes, and white flowers. Great with spicy food, we paired with green curry. More excited for where this will go than where it is now. For me this a definite hold. Will try again in a few years.

  • From a 375. Shimmering pale straw. Nose is inviting peach cream and sweet green apple. No petrol notes. Palate explodes with creamy tropical fruits. White peach and white pineapple. Immediately it melts onto the tongue. Prum is just perfectly balanced every time. Long.

  • JJ Prum - 2016 range tasting (ChinChin Sydney): Laundry power, white florals, lime, flint, apple and blood orange with some earthy notes too. The palate brings a touch of magic to the wine, brimming with energy and an extra level of intensity and depth. Very very long, with superb flow and verve, one of the highlights of the day.

  • 2016 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese, this one AP 09 17; 7.5 pabv; $56/750 ml; Dorothy Lane Market, Oakwood, OH. ; Rudi Weist Cellars International, Importer;. Coravin; le Taster. Quite neutral straw color; some spritz, wtih broken sheeting.

Muscle-flexing grapefruit fizzies, with typical Prüm reductive wool fat or lanolin of this era, underlain by delicate and sweet white fruit floral note, all of which will be taken account of by anyone who's ever tasted Joh Jos Prüm..

Both fully sweet and vividly juicy entry, light -bodied; starting a little weak in the center, but will come on strong once the aeration is done, as it does. Very nice bitter almond and sweet-bitter orange oil, like a Muscato d'Asti on steroids. Now it's showing off, with some rustic white-wine tannins and very mild cigarette tobacco smoke and apparent hints of cilantro and chervil emerging. After two hours the shoulders get bigger and the fruit more powerful, and a few slices of Jarlsberg are added to its benefit and ours. bringing out walnut notes. In my opinion ot a bad, actually quite a fine early-drinking Auslese for this house; also could be given a 5-7 year cellaring window and used as a table wine. 92-93/100 RPP. Drink now-2025, but plenty of room still to grow.

2/20/2018 Retaste of Coravined bottle at one week: still a little spritz; grapefruit is more muted but there is a beautiful, umami-guilded ginger ale note in nose and on palate that may have been hiding underneath it. Still snappy acidity well-balanced to fruity sweetness and better integrated. So although this wine is drinkable in its baby fat stage, there's little to fear from cellaring it further. 93/100
