P: Med body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which transitions into a LONG, balanced finish with a swtness to the dusty tannins, but also with at least the potential for a burgeoning quasi-bitter flatness. NEEDS into '20, then drinking for the ff 3 yrs or so. My VG+/EXC-, poss the higher IF one's focus the QPR of this vendor's $27.95, which is as good as anyone on wine-searcher. 95 pts Suckling, 93 The Wine Front, & Silver_Points_90 @ the '18 Int'l Wine Challenge.

Shaw & Smith newest releases (Bel & Brio, Barangaroo): Pretty cherry and berry, a little ashy stalky note, polished oak, slight caramel, cedar. Similar to the nose on the palate, a little gritty tannins on the tongue and the stalk notes are a little more prominent in the mouth. Not for me though time may help

Very consistent with previous experience (and different from the more exotic nose experienced at the winery). After several hours of air, cherry cola and herbs on the nose. Nice mouthfeel that is rich but not overly so; medium(+) body. Crunchy and tart red fruit on the palate, with overtones of darker fruit and plums. Minerals through the finish, along with that green tannin note. Quite good.

Bright medium(-) ruby/rose color. Cherries, cherry coke, some herbs on the nose with a slight floral element initially but that seems to fade with air. Medium body but seems lighter; very silky. Nice, fine chewy tannin and good, lingering acidity. Crunchy cherries, some green/herbal elements, and a good dose of minerality on the palate. I didn’t get quite as an exotic of a nose as I did at the winery, but this is a very pretty Pinot, with just a bit too much underripe tannin/bitter green on the finish. Very good.
Update: with a bit more air, the more exotic herbal nose emerges. Give this at least a couple of hours of air if drinking now.

Shaw and Smith (Adelaide Hills): Interesting, exotic nose; green fruit, aloe(?), cherry cola. Cool fruit on the palate. Light on structure. Drinking very well now. Unique, very pretty pinot. +

Cola, good acid, nice fruit; delicious, but also melancholy to be drinking during the Adelaide hills fires.
