Tasted after 90 minutes of air. Still tight even though it is 9 years old. Violets on the nose. Medium ruby color. Tangy raspberry fruit. Some spice. Nice finish.

Medium bodied and extremely structured. Class act. Unshowy but deep. After a couple of hours it is just *mushrooms*. The Coach Beard of Oregon Pinot Noir. Good now but has plenty of life in it.

Clear ruby red. Beautiful aromas of florals, red berries and aromatic Chinese five spice. Palate took a while to come together to show silky and candied red berries, florals and spice, good acidity, hint of tannins and a slightly clipped finish.

Did not give this bottle the respect it deserved...air...and still it showed beautifully. In an elegant and poised style. Seamless balance. Delightful expression of a WV micro terroir. Outstanding QPR! 92-93.

Unbelievably finessed, soft cherry fruit hidden behind lots of pine, mushroom, forest floor, minerality, and floral notes. Everything is in perfect balance. Awesome wine.

Very easy to pop, pour, and guzzle this. Delicious! There is considerable substance to it, however, which comes through beautifully with air. Quite the conundrum: Enjoy it straight away or let it breathe for a few hours, for an even better experience. 92-93.
Light red color. Not much in the nose although some light aroma of red cherry. Very light flavor with little depth and a short finish. In past years this vineyard has performed better.

Excellent upon opening...wholly expressive of high quality Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. By the third hour of air, it turned spectacular, featuring powerful acid and noteworthy grip. The complex finish lingered enchantingly. I deeply appreciated the 13 abv. Let it breathe!!!

Delightful bouquet of unmistakably high-quality WV fruit and earth. Sophisticated and yet powerful, at once substantive and gripping. The finish lingers a pleasant while. Evolving, although ridiculously enjoyable. Drink or hold for several years. 92-93.

Lean, but quite tasty blue fruits with a touch of spice, lingering fine tannins, excellent balance and a lengthy finish. This one has the stuffing to to continue to improve for a couple of years. Great QPR.

Earthy, somewhat floral nose of red fruit, potting soil, truffle, cinnamon stick and rose pedals, moderately tangy palate of freshly-picked raspberries and cranberries, secondary notes of black tea, white pepper, oak, baking spice and tobacco, powdery, refined tannins, medium-long finish. 1 hour decant recommended.

Decanted and consumed over two hours. Initially, reductive aromas of matchstick. A bit thin. After an hour +, moderate strength aromas of black cherry, earth, and spice. Moderate flavors of red and black cherry, spice, with a touch of menthol and light/silky tannins on a moderate length finish. Touch of alcohol, but not a negative. Light-moderate complexity. Very drinkable now, with some upside. 91-93.

There is a subtle complexity to this, which is precisely where its appeal lies. Unique by vintage standards, given the heat. It might be perceived as thin, compared to other vintages, but it is actually just light in body and style. Likely to evolve and hold for a long while.

Evolving nicely and likely to continue for a long while. Firm yet subtle, inflection changing, and utterly compelling. Decant for a few hours if enjoying in the near term. 92-93.

Willamette Valley Trip - June 2018; 6/8/2018-6/11/2018: Pommard clone. This has a lively spicy nose; the palate is a nice mix of ripe and less ripe flavors, earthiness, and great depth & complexity. Really liked this one.

Tasted a bottle that had been opened for three days: Wow! This is going to be great in time. Unlike the open-knit and powerful 2014 vintage, this needs time to evolve and unwind. 92-93.

Somewhat less than forward. Light in body for the label, but also intriguing. All that it shows at present commands attention, and it imparts the impression that it will add weight with time. Excellent expression of terroir.

Moderate red-purple color, as expected. Very open and expressive on the nose, with loads of green tea, herbs, tobacco, quince (?), plums, and a bit of tar. On the palate this wine is really singing! It is quite savory and palate-coating with great acidity and depth. Why is it so open already? Quite a delicious and relatively complex glass already, something I've never experienced from this bottling.

Restrained, yet pure expression of the terroir. Seemingly lighter in color, body, and weight than recent vintages, at least at present. It calls for several years of slumber. Will it flesh out? Given the warmth of the 2015 vintage, probably. Time will tell. 92-94.
