No decant. Deep garnet and viscous in the glass. The bouquet is shy, but when coaxed, maraschino cherry comes forward, well ahead of some hints of licorice and thyme and very raw green pepper. The mouth is dense with big tannins and leather. The finish is long and tannic, revealing big and bold red fruit. It promises more with time. We had this over a long dinner with homemade pizza and it paired impeccably. Enjoy now or in 2-5 years.

Drank this next to an Isoceles Reserve and it was the lesser of the two. Perhaps not an apples-to-apples comparison, but this was decent, not spectacular.

Kanonvin i min optik. Stadigvæk lidt reserveret næse med mørke kirsebær, brombær, blå blommer og dernæst sød lakrids, sød pibetobak, vanille og tilsidst lidt garrique-krydderier. I munden er der til gengæld fuld power på. Eksploderer nærmest i munden. Luft den godt eller drik i små slurke. Masser af mørke bær, lakrids og tobak, der bare bliver ved og ved. Fortsat en del tanniner, men perfekt balance. Gem endelig 5-8 år eller luft den godt.
50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc from 18 acres of clay/gravel/sandy-loam soil at 33 ft in Bolgheri near the Tyrrhenian Sea with vines planted in 1999. 10-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks. 20-day maceration plus malolactic. Aged 12-18 months in 225 L French oak barriques (new/one yr). 14.5% Abv. ~30,000 bottles Proprietor: Antonio Moretti

Fourth red wine at Table #3 at Oakton Wine Shops Bucket List Tasting.
Medium mix of garnet and ruby red. Dark cherries on the nose, almost black with purple floral notes. Heavy tannins (7/10) and medium plus bodied. Fresh palate with notes of cherries, spices and stones. Long finish. Drink till 2030.

Crimson. Dark fruit, berry compote...more earthy & brambly. Soft herbaceous notes of mint. Bold barrel of toast & cigar box.
Good amount of acid/tartness. Light cigarette & ash. Leather. Herbal with a touch of eucalyptus. Bawdy character...Orma always delivers, no?
Tannins are velvety. Full bodied. Has good structure & balance. Great concentration, acidity & intensity.
Worth cellaring for at least another 5 years- great with ribs.

bordeaux style but very warm and un-complex; lots of substance but mainly boring.
