Surprisingly soft - five years ago these were tannic beasts. Not now - this wine was soft and feminine with roses and cherries and a bit of crushed pine needles. Nice flavors, pleasant to drink.
Showed really well once again. Approachable and coming together in a beautiful way. Perfumed and generous nose. Notes pretty much consistent with previous tasting.

Tasted after 1.0 hour of decant. Beautiful balance of fruit and accidity, with cherry, berry, and leather leading the way. The acidity is delicate and pairs well with food, while the nose offers delightful aromas of rose, perfume, and truffle. The tannins are light and quite polished. On the third day after opening, this wine showed more fruit characters. Solid Barolo!

Very stinky upon opening, but not only of animal, also cleaning products. Got some spearmint too. After 1h in decant the other elements joined in, and after 3 hrs the fruit was dominating the nose. Palatewise there were no surprise, tannin are ripe and integrated. Not high in etoh. Maybe lacking some detail on the fruit to be really special. Stored some for nxt day so we shall see. Day 2 and still alive, more liquorice. Drink or hold.

Tasted blind. Light color. Nose of rose petals, clay, herbs. The extraction here is light which makes this wine drinkable this early. Still there are of course the biting Nebbiolo tannins at the end

No in depth notes, from memory. Traditional and quite polished in its youth. Cherries, tar, roses, paint box. Pure with solid structure without being overly tough or harsh around the edges. The fruit is sweet at pour and builds up and leans more towards the darker side with some balsamic components with air and rising temperature. Drinks best after two hours of air and around 16 degrees. Was positively surprised by this La Serra that I imagine is a lot more approachable than the Brunate.

Clear rim to ruby; translucent Elegant cherry with almost some smoked meats on the nose. Wonderfully fruit forward with strawberry and some minerality up front. Moderate tannins kick in midway. Short but grippy finish rounds it out very nicely. Very happy with the balance in this wine. Overall it's soft and thus pairs well with food. A great find, especially outside of my typical comfort zone.

Noticably riper than the 2012 La Serra tasted alongside (and needing longer in the cellar) but much less dense and less structured than the 2013 Brunate - which needs lots more time to come around. You can see the potential here, whereas the Brunate is all about upside. No notes, but recall ~92pts (and hold to 2025+)

{ #GrandiLanghe 2017 } Lighter in color than the 2013 Brunate right next to it. Classic lines, proportions, and weight lay within, but right now this is a tannic and acidic beast. My notes say something about the enamel being peeled from my teeth. This is not an early drinking wine, it's a wine that needs 4-5 years at least. Lovely aromas/complexity, but the flavors are largely masked by some rather firm tannins. This will continue to add weight, complexity. Lots of good raw material here, you just need to wait a minimum of 5-7 years before it's even approachable. 2023-2039. recommended
Even through out as the vintage. Loosely described as dragged its feet a little bit. Two weeks later each harvest.
Very much the neutral giant barrel producer.
And that has got a great smell. savory and wet some weet tobacco. Dry and austere throughout the mid palate, with a dary tannin component but not in a bad way.

I do not see why this would be aged further. 89/90. Fruit felt a bit flat.

Leaner and cleaner than 2012. Very young still but well balanced with a good potential to improve. 90-92p
