Blackberry, leather, and hints of cigar box; smooth, sleek, and elegant, not powerful and a bit unidimensional but fairly long finish and quite accessible, and quite good

Dark ruby. Fresh and aromatic with a bouquet of cherries, currant, and raspberries, with other notes of graphite, eucalyptus, and violets. Dark cherries, blackberry, and cassis permeate the mouth with grippy tannins, and juicy acidity. Floral notes, thyme, and spice come in towards the end. Powerful structure with quite a bit of complexity. Long finish. Evolves beautifully in the glass.

Deep ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with pencil, wet leaves, tobacco, cedar, green bell pepper, black pepper, cinnamon, vanilla and forest floor. Medium taste of blackcurrant, pencil, wet leaves, tobacco, green bell pepper, black pepper, forest floor, cedar and cigar box. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. High tannins. Medium body. A very good Haut-Médoc. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

A very good, yet still young wine with medium intensity and high complexity. Deep purple. In the nose, medium intensity with black currant, dark chocolate, green bell pepper, tobacco, and smoke. On the palate, medium intensity with sour black cherries, and tobacco. High tannins, bone-dry, medium body, medium alcohol. Medium finish.

Bordeaux Masterclass (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Jubey, ripe blackcurrant that is slightly tending to cordial, a little cassis, caramel, oak spice. Pretty nose. Juicy, pretty fruit, tangy, ooh, mid palate scoop, tannins close down the front of the mouth. Nice.

Dark ruby color; red currant, light menthol, cedar nose; silky textured, cassis, cedar palate with some acidity; needs 2-3 years; medium-plus finish (50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot)

Zachys Grands Crus de Bordeaux 2016 (New York City, NY): Good for a Haut Medoc. Not neccesarily my style but here goes. Sort of this (lacking viscosity) but packed with berry, some earthy notes, and a finish of chocolate. Still this needs time and is not ready.

Tasted a few days earlier at the negociant Joanne and consistent notes. Almost a sweet plum nose, pleasing. The palate is marked by somewhat rustic tannin. This is merely OK. Time in barrel should smoothen some edges. Moderate length. I would not write home about it, and would prefer some cru bourgeois level wines. 87-89

This has a certain austerity yet a juicy aspect on the mid palate reassures. Still, the finish is a bit angular... Give it time in barrel, and then in bottle. It will not be too expensive. 87-89

Second time I had the wine. Classic Bordeaux. Red berries, subtle use of oak. This bottle is exactly why I love Bordeaux!

Good amount of sediment already in the bottle. Decanted for 1/2 hour. Forward/open/fruity (and tasty!) Bordeaux. Average QPR

Litt spinkel frukt. Tobakk, kirsebær, krydder. Flott struktur og ganske bra lengde. Skuffende for årgang og nivå. Litt enkel. 89

Less tannic than the Closerie, but some tannins.
