Beau Bordeaux qui représente un relief très velouté. Nez d'un fruité direct, frais, sur les bleuets, la cerise. À la fois élégant et moderne, beacoup de générosité. Beaucoup de charme et de personnalité, mais il manque le facteur Wow.

Opened, poured and let sit about 30 min. Then: Maybe some dark fruit on the nose. Taste starts out with some nice dark fruit; medium body; acidity not a problem; tannins start out not that noticeable, but by the end of the glass (30 min) are a bit grippy; not over-ripe; 14.5% alcohol, but not noticeable. Not complex, but a pleasant BDX that I think can go a bit longer without a problem.

From magnum. Big bright fruit, still very primary, drinking very well with a nice nose, structure and length. Huge crowdpleaser with a Christmas Eve Chinese feast and great QPR. Should last for a number of years.

Pnp for dinner. Black berries and cherries, earth, graphite, and some herbs. Mostly Merlot, easy to drink and a good food wine, IMO this represents a good qpr if you like the style. Really a pretty big wine.

80% Merlot and the rest mainly Cabernet Franc and a little bit Cabernet Sauvignon. Bought discounted as the last bottles of the vintage and for about 9,00€ a super bargain. Nice color with some evolution and on the nose cherries, cedar and chocolate. Smooth on the palate, very easygoing, with limited dept but very tasty and fresh. The 14,5% alchol is hardly noticeable. This is for me one of the best QPR in the entire Bordeaux region: I bought at bargain prices and what I rarely do in cases this wine from vintages 2003 (controversial but in a style I appreciated then, and maybe even today), 2012 (undervalued on the right bank) and 2015. This wine is ready to drink. Diam cork.

Beautiful example of a bargain Bordeaux It has all the qualities you expect from Bordeaux and this tastes like a more expensive bottle. It lacks the fruit of a California Cabernet but it’s really quite good for the price

This is a lighter style Bordeaux mainly bases on Merlot. Transparent ruby with no signs of aging. On the nose I get red berries, cherries and wild herbs. Excellent expressiveness and length. This wine has some serious oomph. Medium bodied. Wild herbs like rosemary are really there. Pomegranate, too. Very lean and tight. More Burgundy in style than Bordeaux. The alc. of 14.5 % is extremely well hidden. It has some elegance. Excellent qpr. Bought at Denner.

Decanted for 2 hours and back into cleaned bottle with beef dinner. First bottle from case, this looked and smelled like it should. Ruby red with no bricking, nose of warm red fruits and berries. Tastes like it smells with the addition of some leather and garrigue. Medium bodied, fruit forward with tannins showing still, this is easy to drink. Appreciated by group of inexperienced tasters. Nice wine.

A standard rule in professional wine ratings: A great year, a small label, 90 points. How useless pro reviews of smaller labels are.
The wine looks dark red to violet. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry and game. It tastes like blackberry, stoniness, black pepper and sandalwood. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium.

Very good Côtes de Castillon, although I preferred L'Hêtre 2019 from the Thienpont family a week ago. Didn't pay much for this wine, so I'd call it an excellent QPR. A nice combination of structure and elegance with classic aromas of cassis, plum and notes of cedar. Enjoy now or within the next 3 years.

Opaque purple. Medium body. Expressive nose of blackberry pie. Palate is tasty and smooth with flavors of red cherry, plum, and graphite. Medium finish with smooth tannins, fresh acidity, and mellow black and red fruit. Great QPR.

Total miss for us. First and lasting impression was Welches grape juice. Far too fruity and sweet imho. Definitely cooking with the 2nd bottle or saving as a gift for someone we don't like.

Color: Transparent ruby. Nose: Raspberries. Some dark berries, too. Delicate but very nice. Mouth: Very nice fruit. The tannins really have some grip but are a bit drying. Fresh and juicy. On the palate much more powerful than I anticipated. Very good length. Medium bodied.

Beau petit Bordeaux bien fait, assez moderne avec son Merlot plutôt boisé et extrait mais délicieux et certainement un très bon rapport qualité-prix en regard des autres vins de types Bordeaux-blend disponibles dans les 25-30$.

(11/25/20) Given the relatively good reviews this wine has received, I can only conclude that there must have been something wrong with my bottle. What I tasted was only half a step up from the wine you get for free during a community art walk—more like grape juice with alcohol in it than wine. There are some very good Bordeaux wines to choose from at this price point (Chateaux Charmail, Saintayme, Calon, du Retout among them), so this is a disappointment; 14.5% abv. (*/13.5/83)
Day 2: After writing my tasting note last night, I noticed a few reviewers indicated that this was markedly improved on the second day. This afternoon, in a spirit of hopefulness, I took this bottle out of the fridge, where it had been kept under vacuum seal, waiting to go into a pasta sauce or something, and decanted it for the rest of the day (about five hours).
Drum roll, please.... And.... It’s the same.

I drank this bottle undecanted over the last two nights. Pretty good the first night, with dark fruit (I can't tell if it was mulberry, boysenberry, or blackberry ever since the Village Inn by my office closed and I don't have access to those syrup caddies,) dominating the palate, with a hint of floral and some earthy spice. The mouthfeel was a bit chewy for my taste, and lacking in elegance. However, after leaving the bottle corked, half full, and re-opening the bottle last night I found the wine had opened significantly and mellowed. The floral notes (10% cab franc) had emerged and the wine was showing some class. Very impressive considering the price point. I think that this wine would benefit from a year or two in the cellar.

Powerful nose of mushrooms, truffles and liquorice. Fruit forward with red cherries and raspberry dominating. Tannic and earthy. Not yet integrated with the fruit and tannins feeling quite separate and disjointed from each other. Okay quaffer but prefer the less expensive Tour St Bonnet.

Nose is quite mineral, preserved olives, old leather, toasted licorice with ripe blue and black berries. Palate echoed the nose, fairly rich, composed and smooth already for such a young wine. Medium bodied and rounded structure. Nice transition to a deep and lingering finish. Ready to drink now with minimal decanting and will age for at least 3 years or longer.

From a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine opens with licorice, ripe, black cherry, vanilla and kirsch. Forward, lush, juicy and fresh, the wine leaves you with sweet, dark chocolate covered cherries and a hint of dust in the tannins.
