HDR seminars, Day One (Paso): Dark yellow in color. Thick nose, slightly stemmy. Rich, but with nice acidity. Med-full body. I thought there was some oak spice, but its aged in neutral oak... Nice bottle. 88+

In the glass, clear, slightly pale yellow. On the nose, honeysuckle with hints of peach and flint. On the palate, a slightly viscous mouthfeel with floral notes, peach, and more noticeable minerality, with a touch of black pepper on the finish. A nice viognier, pleasant on its own or with seafood. Would be really nice with oysters.

Hospice du Rhone; 5/3/2007-5/6/2007 (Paso Robles, CA): Floral and pineapple notes, with peaches. Almost a chard-like nose. Nice, juicy fruit. Pineapple, apple. Great acids, lovely wine. Nice minerality.

Hospice du Rhone 2007 "It's Only Natural" Seminar (Paso Robles, California): Pretty honeysuckle and melon. Flashy and bright viognier, that is balance out nicely by the acidity and minerality. Very nice.

Full yellow. Big aroma of slightly perfumed banana yellow fruit. Nice rich honeyed yellow fruit with a very perfumed spicy long finish.
