Two hour decant. Very deep ruby magenta color. Plum, pomegranate, clove, black cherry syrup and graham cracker on the deep, fruit forward nose. Lush, mouth filling palate, with velvety acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish. This is drinking in prime time.

Opened up a split. This took almost 1.5 days to open before it was remotely pleasurable. Even then probably would’ve benefited from more time. Tasted after 10 hr decant: tasted green and raw, just too big and hot but definitely could tell it has good bones. 36 hrs: heat mellowed out but still a bit raw /green tasting (like that feeling in mouth of not quite ripe banana). Caramel on nose. Dense inky maroon. Complex and yet not integrated. Tannins still need to smooth out. Definitely needs some more time but excited to see how it ends!

Has a very high quality feel to it, definitely well made and many that drink Napa wines will find this very appealing. However, a little too rich, one dimensional, and alcoholic for my tastes. But liked it better than expected.
30 min decant (would have benefited from 2-3 hours). Deep dark magenta color. Tobacco, black cherry and subtle green pepper on the slightly extracted nose. Smooth, dry, thick palate. Soft, but firm, tannins on the medium long finish.
Shared three nice bottles (Pinot, CF and this CS) with professors at a conference in Boston. We enjoy talking science and wine at these events around the world. It’s hard work.

Big and loaded, but not taking it too far, this bold expression eschews the classic Napa style. Mocha, blackberry, camphor and vanilla. A medium-long finish, and velvety tannins. There’s enough balance to keep everything in check. Drink 2020 - 2028.

A neighbor brought this over for the NCAA basketball tournament. Dark purple fruit - blackberry, dark currants, blueberry, and a little dark cherry. Smooth mid-palate, however, I thought the fruit came across a little flat - not very flavorful nor vibrant especially in consideration of its youth. It tasted like a more mature vintage. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. Apparently decanted for one hour and we drank it over another three. Not much improvement with time. Enjoyable but I expected more in light of my experience with previous vintages and also the price point. 82% cab sauvignon, 9% merlot, 3% cab franc, 3% malbec, 3% petit verdot.

PNP at restaurant. I was fighting a cold, so my senses weren’t the best. For that reason, I’m going to avoid leaving too many tasting notes. Young (way too young to be drinking) fruit forward, dark fruit, medium to full bodied, some minerality on the finish. Fruitier than I remember past vintages being. This is most likely due to the age of the wine. I’m going to grab a few bottles to lay down for the future. Solid produced that will never let you down.

Had side by side with a 2014 Darioush Cab Franc. This one edged out the Cab Franc but only a little. Definitely a heavier wine, this went well with a tomahawk rib eye from Hall's Chophouse in Greenville.

Nice cab. Dark, dense, with chalky tannins. Good concentration and length. Midpalate leaves the impression of residual sugar
