deep ruby colored with purple reflexes / nose: intense, red fruits like raspberry, strawberry and red cherries, black currant, coffee, pepper, very little smoke / palate: medium- acidity, medium tannins, full bodied, good length, fruits like dark cherries / overall: a very nice Châteauneuf-du-Pape which is easy drinking. Unfortunately, it was the last bottle. Probably, it is now at the peak. I would drink this wine over the next three years. 8,5/10 (special plus for complexity)

Once again there is lots going on in this wine. It is well balanced whereby the acidity, and tannins are in a good spot right now. Intense richness and hedonistic as I found myself gulping a mouthful this with each sip. At the start on the palette I get strawberry, light fresh cherry and rhubarb. The mid palette is fresh cream with strawberry and the finish is pure fruit with fresh acidity and...... boy is this also balanced. This started developing after an hour. Lots more of room to improve. Wait another 2-3 years and decant.

Medium ruby colour. Medium nose with red currant, red cherry, blackcurrant and black pepper. Pronounced taste of red currant, red cherry, green bell pepper, black pepper, licorice, wet stones, leather, tobacco, wet leaves and forest floor. Medium long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A good to very good Châteauneuf-du-Pape that still feels a bit green and young. Should probably rest in the cellar for a couple of more years. Goes well with lamb, poultry, pork or veal.

Deep garnet in color. Cherries and a whiff of barnyard on the nose. Lightly acidic with reserved tannins. Not a lot of structure. Flavors of cherries, chalk, a hint of menthol (needs more cellaring time). The wine is fairly hot at 14.5% alcohol.

M. Chapoutier: Tour of the Rhone (SOBE Wine & Food Festival - Miami Beach): Raspberry and garrigue on the nose. The taste matches the nose with the addition of tobacco and cedar. The flavors are more concentrated than you expect based on the medium weight of the wine. It is very mouth coating and yet relatively light. Long finish. This wine has its best years ahead of it.

Such a big wine and yet so light in color. Balanced and delivers a heat driven Modern Chateuneuf Du Pape. There is lots going on in this wine. Intense richness and hedonistic as I found myself gulping mouthfuls.

15 min decant at the Palm Beach Grill and drank with dinner over the next 90. Medium translucent cranberry red. Nose of peppermint, tarragon, sandalwood and blackberries. Taste is similar with a nice sweet woodsy profile. Low tannins and medium acidity leave a nice mouthfeel. Gets sweeter (touch of maple syrup) with more airtime. About 89-90. Went well to counterbalance a spicy creole style shrimp dish.

The entry level Chateauneuf from Chapoutier offers a medium bodied, forward, sweet, cherry profile. Focused on its fruits ad freshness, over additional nuances, there is still enough peppery goodness with a dose of marjoram in the finish to keep things interesting.

Great nose. Tart Red fruits. On the thinner side. Higher acidity. Earthy. Barnyard. Neither savory or fruity. Decent food wine. Pretty disappointing.

Nothing special here. Heat, black fruit with iron, chalkiness, and pepper. Simple and straightforward.
There are many basic cuvée CdP that are far better than this. Overall poor QPR.
Half the bottle stored overnight. The wine did not fare any better on day 2.

Decent but I have never been a big fan of this. Dark fruit, spices, alcoholic heat, short finish. Chapoutier is a safer bet in Northern Rhone.
