Keller Open Afterparty (Weingut Keller): Still in a very good shape. Some riper aromas like hints of petrol and yellow fruit on the nose mixed with a splash of citrus and grapefruit. The acidity is integrated into a nice amount of yellow fruit, pear and a hint of sweetness on the finish.

Really, really good. Night 2 even better. Citrus, petrol, little ocean spray on nose. Little splash of sweetness and plenty of acidity to make this a perfect food wine. Paired with a jalapeño risotto.

Yellow peach and honeysuckle on the nose. On the palate, lemon, grapefruit, a bit of peach, and hints of rubber/petrol and salinity, with just enough acid to balance the fruit. This was noticeably better than previous bottles -- why is the last one so often the best? Good value for the money.

light gold color, good mouth feel with acidic attack, rich mid palate and floral and mineral finish. honeyed floral aromas with some petrol. pop and pour.

Although the cork crumbled, the wine was intact. Fairly full-bodied and quite dry, it had only a hint of petrol and a good sense of ripe stone fruit. A slightly medicinal note was the only thing that marred an otherwise lovely wine.

Strong nose of petrol/rubber. Good acid, medium bodied. Nice fruit and medium cut on the finish. Good wine for the price. Nothing spectacular, however, and thought that my other similarly priced "Lyle" wines were better (e.g., the Battenfeld-Spanner).

Pop and pour. The cork was partly soaked and crumbly, and a bit of the bottom broke off as it came out of the bottle. On the nose, lemon/tangerine citrus and a hint of burnt rubber. On the palate, a rubbery/petrol note that faded a bit over some minutes; then lemon, grapefruit, and pear, with bitter orange peel on the medium finish; moderate acidity, but enough to balance the fruit. Good value for the price.

Dinner with Friends (Beaucastel, Keller, McPrice, Saxum, ++) (Our home): My first "Lyle" wine that I opened. Pop and pour. The nose is nice with lemons and slight petrol. With air, the petrol comes out a bit more, but never onerous or to the point of distraction. Nice texture. Round, but enough acidity to work well with food. This is dry although the fruit is perceptible on the palate giving it a feeling that it might have rs. Nice finish. All in all, a nice and very interesting wine at decent value.

First half, decanted half an hour. This was strange to the point of being disagreeable. The notes of spontaneous fermentation seem to have take over all other aromatic qualities of this otherwise nicely golden and round and full-bodied wine: Bitter notes of burnt rubber and smelly oil furnace made it rather unpleasant. It even seemed to go badly with all ingredients in the dinner: The fried fish with mushrooms, the mashed potatoes with lemon, and the salad with sweetish root vegetables. A previous bottle was much more likeable.
Much better on the second day. The sponti aromas have been replaced with more greenish fruity ones. High acidity. Quite good, though perhaps not entirely harmonious. Surprising that a wine of this order can still be so young at nearly ten years.

A little closed--I think it needs a few more years but still good. The punch of green apple is really obvious at the beginning with slight petrol notes on the finish. There is also some sweet coriander seed balanced by a nice, zingy citrus acidity. drink or hold--preferably hold.

Very good. Intense and mouth-filling, but not heavy. Great balance with acid and minerality cutting through the body. This stood out to my wife as well who is not a geek but knows what she likes.

Crispy, dry and juicy medium bodied, mineral riesling. Excellent balance, almost elegant. Nose displayed lemon, minerals and hints of petroleum. No rush.

Tasted over two days, holding well. Aromatically rounded and harmonious though I had difficulties identifying the exact flavour: a mixture of pear and dill? lychee? quince? Underneath chalky minerality. Good body and high acidity, not at all old. Very good.

Light yellow color. A somewhat hesitant nose of lemon and minerals. Medium bodied, dry, yet broad and juicy. Lemon, minerals, and some smoke... Excellent. 90-91.

Nose of petrol at open blows off after 15-20 minutes. Medium body with flavors of honey, citrus, and a touch of acidity on the finish. Long finish
