2nd bottle of night. Strawberry, one note / simple. Goes down easy rose, yet full bodied. Low acid - which I liked tonight. Hit the spot for the wife - more fruit than the previous rose. Wife - 91/92, Me - 89 Rebuy

Opened this up to start the evening. A nice rosé -- definitely more full-bodied and rich than the Chapoutier. Nice strawberry/watermelon fruit, some melon and citrusy notes, with a bit of earthiness there. Was quite nice, but almost a bit too.. forward for me after the Chapoutier.

Pleasant enough but very light; OK to sip, not as good with food as I expected. Some floral and light red fruit on the nose; decent acid and citrus notes on the palette.

The color of watermelon flesh. Bright, fresh, inviting nose, with an explosion of watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, and canteloupe fruit aromas, as well as fresh picked roses and a tickle of something spicy. Really a beautiful, expressive nose even though it’s mostly primary fruit. A little bit less impressive on the palate, but only because it’s just a little too weighty and alcoholic for this style of wine for me. The fruit is all still there and is nice and pure and ripe, and it does have a little kick of mineral bitterness to keep it from being too simple and fruity, but I just wish it had a touch more acidity and a touch less alcohol. Regardless, I like it and I think it’s a great value and a good example of a Rhone rose.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 8/5/2017 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): To me this Guigal always has something different going on than most of your typical Southern French rose'. There is an easily discernable structure and backbone that is hard to describe. Definitely " Old World" there are more fruit than non fruit flavors. The typical rose style red fruits are enhanced by some orange and tangerine flavors not usually associated with rose. Superb balance. Crisp and earthy on the finish.

A bunch of 2016 Roses (Western Reserve Wines): I was pleasantly surprised by this. But then again, Guigal CdR's can really impress in good vintages like 2016. A bit deeper in color. Strawberries and some watermelon. some depth. Refreshing. $16 is a nice value.

Nice nose of strawberry and citrus. Nice acidity on the palate, yet nothing jumped out at me in terms of flavor. Pleasant finish. Quite drinkable but nothing special.

39th Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2012s (R&D's): Deeper color than the other roses. Berry and melon fruit with floral overtones. Nice acidity on the palate, with flavors of melon and macerated red berry. Finishes with just a hint of spice. Very good. 88-89 pts.

A wonderful "everyday" drinkable rosé. Strawberry and watermelon rind aroma. Rich finish. Reminds us of pichets we would get in France.
N. Rhône, Côte-Rôtie.

A lovely very nicely balanced rose. It has a deeper rose color than many. there was no bouquet. The flavor was fruity but not too sweet.

what a deal. brilliant medium copper. Strawberries, herbs and earth (and a subtle caramel note). A little creaminess but with a sharp acidity.
