Deep red purple colour, pale rim Pungently herbal nose , fennel, liquorice, plums, Lovely aromatic quality, spicy , liquorice coming through strongly, leather , and dark chocolate, powerful but not overpowering. Maturing nicely. Proper vintage character here. Great quality for the price. Will be even better in 5 years time.

Tasty LBV. The nose brims with shriveled dark fruit, fig tart, and a touch of menthol. The flavors are spice-driven, complex, and lovely Christmas spices linger on the finish.

One of the few times an established house offers consumers a Screaming Value. Nose is subdued, low toned with hints of gravely black fruit, raisin and floral scent. Dense and dark on the palate, violets and black pepper square off, rich black fruit, leaning towards the dry side. Good structure, grippy soft tannins balanced by underlying acidity. Spicy and a touch hot. Comes across more generous than your average LBV. Picked this up for $16.99 and will be laying several down to enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Everything you’d expect from TF. Rating 91 but, should hit 92-93 over time….Na zdrowie

Crimson-black; blackberries, black currants, prunes, burnt sugar, cocoa; semi-sweet, black cherry, pruney, lush, medium-full body, good acidity, grainy tannins, decent finish. Good concentration of dark fruit with well-balanced heat. Not complex but tasty, finish a bit short.

Served chilled at the Barao Taylor's restaurant at Vila Nova de Gaia. Blackberry and black cherry and a pronounced smokiness. The palate offers up the black fruits that the nose delivered and there is a tannic backbone to this wine which means this wine needs food to really enjoy or give some time in bottle to soften.

Chocolate and cherry flavour with some anise, so great after dinner. Not a long finish, but strong enough tannins that I expect it to get better. More enjoyable than the standard LBV.

Even though mass-produced, this Port still plays it serious 'til the very end. Magnificent nose reminiscent of Havana cake drizzled with chocolate and ground coffee backed up by some dried plum and fig. Strong alcohol which desperately needs its friend acidity to carry it on its wings of glory. Good concentration of fruit on the palate with the sweetness balanced nicely into the long finish. Pair with chocolate cake or with your drunken self.

Nose: pumpernickel and ripe grape (but not raisin)
Palate: plum, black raisin undertone tapers steadily to the finish; pair with strong blue cheese and banana-chili jam (Jörg Sackmann)

Quite mature. Dry fruit and nice notes of tobacco, ash and dirt.

Not much fruit in midpalate here but felt quite ash-y, instead. Perhaps the style doesnt fit me.

Grape jam, eucalyptus and aguardente to the nose. Flavor of Annie, mint and minimal berries. Good balance of sweet, medium tannins and aguardente.

A very good LBV port - rich, dark fruit, touch of sweet. Still, 2011 was a better year.

Very nice. Fruity and sweet but overly so. Smooth, with a raisin edge that I liked.

Veritably vegital. Should consider a merger with vegemite.
Good dark colour. Serious. But more intellectual than pleasant.
Maybe great with cheese, but not great alone.
