CdB BoG; 1/25/2024-1/27/2024 (Denver): I would have never thought a Bdx Blanc could be my wine of the night, especially in the company of so many other great wines. But this was fantastic. I lost my notes but it has had a long ‘mental’ finish. As in, I am still thinking about it. I only just realized I have had this before with similar surprise. This is a buy.

Simply immaculate in every detail. Straw yellow in colour with distinct green hues. Nose reveals great complexity yet precision - fresh herbs, grass, accompanied by a lovely mix of white-fleshed fruits and yellow stone fruits, lemon curd, minerality, smoke and flowers. In the mouth, the wine is medium+-bodied, dense and excellently concentrated. Flavours emerging tropical with fine backbone oak structure. Energetic and fresh acidity. 45 sec, minerality-bitter finish. Pure class!

Pronounced and evolving nose of honeyed green apple, bright citrus, white flowers and some thyme.
Medium bodied with high acidity and very good flavor concentration. The finish is medium plus.
Overall well made and delicious, but just a notch below some of its peers (at the same price point) in terms of complexity in an excellent year for Pessac whites.

Nice enough but not worth the price ($108 CAD). Second time I have been disappointed with Malartic blanc. For the money, you are better off buying 4-5 entry level white Bordeaux.

The same wine as the Reserve de Malartic. So this is the second wine, not the main wine. Full bodied and powerful, not grassy, showing its age but in a good way.

One of the best bordeaux Blanc I have had. Love the citrus and grapefruit notes, with a slight oiliness from the semillon. I was glad to see that I have a few of the 2017 pending on the futures list.
Pale yellow. Melange of lemon, lime, grapefruit on the nose, with evolution that included minor white flowers. Medium body, nice balance in the mouth with cream, citris and oiliness - excellent structure. Some tannins, medium plus finish.

It is a good combination of ripe, bright, yellow citrus, a drizzle of honey, dash of vanilla and hint of grapefruit here. The wine is juicy, crisp and refreshing, with a citrus in the finish.

Drinking very well for a 2016. Mostly citrus fruit and lots of floral notes. Still very primary and will certainly improve with more bottle age. Soft, oily texture on the palate. Very round in the mouth. Acidity in good balance. Interesting to compare this to the great 2015; I may slightly prefer the 2015 right now, but this could certainly change in a few years. There is just a bit more acidity in the 2015, though the 2016 seems to be the rounder wine.

Rich, ripe, round and sweet, with lusciously textured, fresh lemon, lime, flowers, vanilla and honeysuckle, the wine is crisp, refreshing and ready to go.

Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux 2016 Vintage Tasting (Las Vegas, NV): A pale yellow blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Sémillon, the 2016 Malartic-Lagravière is impressive from attack to finish. Intense stone fruit, lemon verbena, rose petal, tangerine and mineral aromas are matched by similar flavors on a light-to-medium-bodied, crisply acidic, seamlessly alcoholic frame. The wine remains vibrant and flavorful throughout the mid-palate and lengthy finish. This is a gorgeous white Bordeaux that should show well for another decade or more. Drink now-2029.

UGC San Francisco: the 2016 Bordeaux: Another blanc I am a fan of. Lovely wine, with 85% Sauvignon blanc, good mouthfeel and texture, nice attack of yellow fruits and acids, balanced and moderately deep with some refreshing herbal touches.

UGC 2019 Los Angeles (Jeremy Hotel, West Hollywood): Loads of grass and sweet/sour apple, definitely sauv blanc dominated nose. Well-integrated oak is not overbearing: more sour apple and citrus on the palate. Good density, but maybe a bit grainy on the finish.

Tasting some Pessac-Léognans 2016 vintage (Château Bouscaut): The nose? There is iodine, there is lemon, there is kiwi: all kinds of stuff going on and this is a very fine white – but do not neglect their second wine, which in 2016 is darn good. There is white peach and pear on the palate, just a robust and lively white that keeps on giving! 13.5% alcohol. Bravo!

Barrel sample en primeur. Maybe the dry whites aren't quite as good this year or maybe they will evolve well given time. My note here was a backhanded compliment - not much better than Domaine de Chevalier! What a great Domaine to be better than.

Lemon lime, flowers, and vanilla with a shot of grapefruit are out in the open. Luscious, yet crisp and refreshing, there is a lot of sweet fruit here with refreshing acidity giving it lift and complexity. Harvested from September 19 to September 26. The wine was produced from a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon.

Textbook white Pessac.
High acidity, lots of green apple, honeyed citrus and just a touch of stone fruit.
The finish is medium plus and delicious.
This wine will easily last another 5 years plus in a cold cellar.

Very tropical and saline; moderately buttery and oaky. Good energy and complexity here. The perfect pairing might be lobster with drawn butter.

UNION DES GRANDS CRUS DE BORDEAUX 2016 VINTAGE SAN FRANCISCO. (Metreon, San Francisco, Ca.): UNION DES GRANDS CRUS DE BORDEAUX 2016 VINTAGE SAN FRANCISCO. Nose of grapefruit, touch of citrus, and honey, same on the palate, medium body, tight tasting, needs time but the fruit seems too subdued, medium finish.
