  • Beautiful! One of the best Aleste-Cannubis Boschi with 2010 and 1990 if we except the future Legendary 2016

  • Opened it at 530pm and it only started (truly) unfurling its charms after midnight. This was a regal, nebbiolo. Intense rose and violets. But the tannins - my word - they hit me like a brick wall. Coating my gums and teeth and needed me to continually rinse my mouth so that it won't affect my tasting of the other wines. This is a powerhouse that is built to last several decades. Please be advised, if consuming now, do give it many hours PLUS have it with a hearty steak to soften the tannins.

  • Late night small group at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, earth, dark red florals and some peonies, nail polish VA with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), very high puckery tannins, full body. Medium+ flavur intensity, with flavours of polishd dark red cherries, sweet red plums, fresh earth with minerals, dark spice, smoke, ferrous iron earth and animal blood with more air. Very long tannic finish.
Excellent quality. Fresh and powerful. My initial guess was 2016 Barolo. More age required here for this Cannubi Boschis.

  • Drank from a magnum. Dark fruited with noticeable wood. Leather, mint and forest floor. Somewhat grainy with sharp edges. Give it another five years.

  • Good show albeit not as outstanding as the former bottle. Classical Barolo-style. Impeccable structure

  • This is a bit of a beast! Dark, dried fruit, structured and chewy. Lots of tannin, even after 2 hours in the decanter this is still showing quite young, but 3-4 hours in it was opening up a bit. Tasty wine, but could use a few more years I think.

  • blind
Nose was Bordeaux, taste more Burgundy. I was completely wrong but such a gem. Balanced, charming but with the right tannin grip. Some strawberries and violet. A young baby but well drinkable at the moment. 94-95

  • Oxidized with some cork taint.

  • Amazing nose. Cola. Licorice. Autumn leaves. Slightest of tar and some feral notes also. Fruit is dark and the tannins supportive but not intrusive. In fact this is one of those Barolos that transcend your average Barolo nose/palate and becomes something bigger. I conjure up images of cote rotie and almost bordeaux with its minty backdrop. Really quite good. Had PIRA Marenca 2013 next to it and that wine showed greater typicity (rosehip and bitter almonds) but wasn't as balanced, neither as complex

  • Staggeringly different from the Le Vigne this year, this shows a dark, muscular, brooding nose of dried red and black cherry, dense forest, miso, anise, chartreuse-like herb. You could get lost in that nose. Impressive as it is, I prefer the fresh fruit character of the Le vigne to the dried fruit character of the Aleste. This is young and big, but not at all impenetrable or un enjoyable - quite the opposite.

  • Drank from a magnum. Somewhat approachable but still primary and sharp. Leathery red fruit, vanilla, mint, orange zest, bandaid (slight) and mineral. Less modern than I was expecting. Give it five plus more years for the acidity and tannin to mellow.

  • Very well made structured wine. Sweet tannin completely coat the mouth creating a long finish. Bright red cherry, earth and licorice flavors. I will wait 5 years before opening my next bottle

  • Pure class. Try to wait 10 years for my higher end baroli - this will evolve, but it’s pretty sensational as is. Drink or hold.

    Aspettare.

  • This wine and the equivalent 2010 (under its old name Cannubi Boschis) are the best wines I have ever tasted from Sandrone. Which one is better? I dont know...the 2010 is racier, a bit sweeter but stunning - this 2013 is slightly more austere (especially for Sandrone) and more classic, with a sandy tannic bite. A wine to put away and then enjoy for decades.

  • what a nose! at first it smells like a burgundy but then with swirling u get notes of flowers, red fruit, mint and smoke and no interference from alcohol. In the mouth the entry floral with a strong acidic punch and grippy tannins. The middle lacked some weight but the finale is super super long with notes of red fruit, licorice, flowers cherries and smoke. Tannins while still grippy they are fine. This needs another 7 years at least before it can be fully appreciated but won't peak before at least another 15 years. Tremendous effort ! 94 now higher down the road

  • Another superb 2013 from Sandrone.
Surprisingly available already at this stage.
Much like the Le Vigne, but somewhat more feminine and perfumed, with a higher and more floral perfume of roses.
Some smoke along with dark cherries, raspberries and blackberries, with stony minerals.
Palate floral as well, with very fine acidity, creamy and fresh.
    Great length and overall texture.
Simply fantastic showing and great potential for further improvement.

  • Wonderful blue fruit jumping from the glass. This is very fresh and pure, mint, flowers, blackberry. The palate is fresh and dense, lots of tannins but I can see that they will probably integrate nicely. Give it time and you will have a winner. A grand Barolo, modern but not too modern in its feel. Best after 2025

  • Darker ruby color. This was opened a few hours ago and just keeps getting better, while still super young of course. Perfumed and seductive notes of sweet red and dark berries, crushed violets, mint, sweet spices, also some graphite, pepper. It‘s medium-full bodied, but feels almost weightless, but then has a stucture of pretty high but super silky tannin as well as high acidity providing tension and freshness. Excellent length. This is just a baby in terms of evolution, but such a seductive and complete wine. Wow... can‘t wait to see how this will be at maturity...

  • Beautiful wine that will absolutely be great in 10 more years. Nose of cherry, game and forest floor. This palate does show a bit of alcohol and has tannins that are intense. With food and fat, the tannins do melt off and gives a preview of what this wine will be.

  • On the nose: Acetone, rosehip, soil and forest ground.
On the palate: Very prominent tannins, licorice, rosehip.
    Medium + finish

  • The nose was dark and alluring with crushed stone giving way to haunting floral tones, hints of spiced citrus peel, dried roses and undergrowth. On the palate, I found soft textures, which seemed to hover on the senses with notes of ripe black and red fruit, saline-minerality, and soft acidity. Fine tannin came on late, mounting with each sip until it seemed to coat the entire palate throughout the finish, leaving hints of dried berries and savory minerals. There was so much beneath the surface here, that I can only imagine great things to come in 15 - 20 years
