Poor lighting in the restaurant but color seemed to be a bright green gold.. the aroma and palate verified that for me. Excellent mouthfeel and texture. Linear and zippy acidity. Lemon zest green apple and beautiful crushed shell minerality. I loved this wine and happy to see a 2015 be as it should be. No premox. Highest recommendation as the QPR for LLCC is maybe the best out there.

Amazing value for Grand Cru status. Truly a masterful wine with great texture; stonefruits to even notes of more exotic ones. Great Citrusy notes. Great acidity and finish. Singing right now but will hold for years.

excellent; had this to kick off a fun night of excellent wines and steaks; pretty pale yellow color; no signs of premox; lots of lemon, some white flowers and def wet stones on the nose; lemon curd, great acidity, long finish. wish I had more of this.

Lemon, sea salt, nuttiness, baking spices. Full bodied on the palate. Rounded textures with very intense citrus fruit. Long finish. Great to drink now, but should continue to improve.

Robe is dark golden butterscotch yellow, which is present in the 2010 and 2015 of this that I’ve tried. It almost appears pre-moxed but all 3 bottles I’ve tried had this characteristic - perhaps a triple flawed streak which I suppose is possible, but unlikely. Off putting color and nose right out of the gate. This is not built to last and not a proper representation of the appellation in my opinion. This drinks like a buttery California chardonnay with very little acidity. Alcohol content is also high from the warm vintage. There’s also a very strange olive oil note on the finish that I strongly dislike.

Simply stunning wine ... started out shy ( served a bit too chilly ). Grew throughout the evening - explosion of flavors in mouth. And a very long, intense and goosebumps finish !!!

Reciprocal: Louis Latour Tasting (Neil Ellis): (Tasted Blind): 2015 Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru A light+ yellow colour. Shy aromas with minerals, moss and oyster shells that slowly open to show the more vanilla, toast and soft spice of oak influence. The palate begins with a stone-y, robust, slightly meaty angle, and a percipient touch of oak supports the wine without inveigling the flavours. Lovely breadth to the mid-palate is a wine with girth and grit. A wide array of flavours begins with saline and seaweed elements, sliced charcuterie and a streak of cayenne pepper. There are some lighter stone fruits in the background, but more towards ripe apples and an aniseed twist. Fuller, bigger style has good intensity with richness on the mid-palate and phenolic grip on the finish. A long finish, fair concentration and viscosity from the glycerol (sucrosité), even if I didn't find it as compelling as I hoped. Closes with a dry wood note. Matured in 50% new oak, aged for 8-10 months. Alcohol Content: 14%

Decidedly better the second day. Full of crisp notes of apples, pears, and melons. Great acidity balanced with a fitting fruit center, and long long finish, over a minute. How do you know your fine is fruit forward? I left my wine goblet lunattended and an hour later it became the drowning point of those tiny fruit flies!!! LMAO It can go another 5 years, if you can keep your hands off it.
Latour Corton Charlie was my go-to fancy pants veal chop wine in the 90s. Haven’t had it as often since returning to the US. This brought back a lot of happy memories: the powerful nose of smoke and granite and sour citrus, the dominant grapefruit sour and bitter tastes. This was a pnp which was a mistake , even considering it was a 2015: this took close to an hour of air to really get going , with new scents of florals, a touch of anise , and mango to offset the grapefruit. Great acidity and very strong minerality. Years away from peak, surprisingly. Score: 93+. Relative to expectations: +

Flash note. Golden color, great viscosity and silky texture. Well mingled with oak. All things in the right places. Excellent stuff. Two bottles disappeared like that. Created instant WB fans (and why wouldn’t they be!).
Highest recommendation as this is relatively “affordable” grand cru white burg.

Balanced minerality, complex opening of oak spice and custard apple and stone. suave finish punctuated with a period. You almost wish it would linger more but you know once it’s complete that it was meant to be. a delight to taste

Vanilla, clove, allspice, lemongrass, subtle melon notes all build complexity while mineral tones offer crispness with harmonious balance of acidity. Finishes with a spice note that lingers on. Phenomenal wine.

Pop and pour. This felt very heavy and hot initially, like a overdone Cali Chard, but after a 2 hour decant it seemed to shed some that weight and presented more delicate and showed some complexities. While it was a good wine, it wasn’t great for the price.

Maison Louis Latour Tasting with Louis-Fabrice Latour (Capital Grille, NYC): Color is golden yellow. Nose of burned match and buttery apple pie. The palate is rich and full bodied - (really notice the progression from the village to the 1er cru to the grand cru here). This has a luxe and unctuous mouthfeel but kept in balance with bright acidity. The oak toast is still a hint noticeable, but this should integrate given some cellar time. Really enjoyable.

Aromas of butter popcorn, papaya, lemon and mineral. Flavors of butter popcorn, lemon, papaya, hint of vanilla and hint of clove. Ends with a 35+ seconds finish with tropical fruit and mineral notes. This has a nice oak influence without being overly heavy and remains light on it's feet with a great acidity. Not overdone.

WS Grand Tour 2018, New York. Citrus, apple, banana and oak spice on the nose. Very okay on the palate, with citrus, apple, banana, oak spice and vanilla. A little tropical, too. Creamy mouthfeel. Good concentration and length. As all Latour wines, to me this wine suffers from too much new oak influence. A pity.

Admittedly I have a cold but this was overwhelmingly new oak aromatics, partly counterbalanced on the palate by an elegant acidity
Mercifully, not a buttery oak style but 14% abv seems excessive and the amount of wood....
I prefer Bonneau du Martray style
