Opened for 3 hours. Color is deep ruby. On the nose: Pepper, blood, violets, black olives, cassis, cinnamon and plum. On the palate: Cassis, pepper, beef blood, tapenade and violets. Luscious mouthfeel and very long finish. This is a baby and probably needs 10 years to fully develop. It’s fabulous now but I expect it will be resplendent in 5-10 years.

Opaque dark ruby colour. Currant, toast, vanilla, cinnamon, and rare beef on the nose. Very dry palate with massive tannin and extract; olive and pumpernickel toast flavours; smoky mineral and dark berry finish. An angry baby for having been woken up so early. 5/5

2015 Guigal single vineyard cote rotie release dinner (Golden Century, Sussex Street): Dark, brooding and quite 'thick' smelling if you can imagine such a thing. Black fruits, slight whole bunch. Juicy, medium plus acidity, black fruits are joined, not swamped, by hugely massive tannins that dry out the palate, a little alcohol heat. Woof.

14% alcohol. 100% Syrah. Dense and quite closed aromas with powerful concentrated berries, charming smoke and leather. Nice full bodied wine with good mouthfeel. Very concentrated and complex, packed with red quite rich berries. Solid tannins, which build perfect structure. Packed with wood and licorice at the finish. Fantastic wine with great development potential 96 points. For now. (96-98p)

Off the charts levels of concentration, a wall of perfectly ripe tannins that feels so great, with its mesh of strength, balance and finesse. Wave after wave of perfectly ripe, palate staining fruit and a finish that bows past the 60 second mark! A legend in the making that will easily deliver the goods for over 50 years!

Still very young, quite tannic, closed, good balance and structure but very primary. Cotsens blind night

It supposed to be a great wine but too young to kill. Anyway thanks Leon for this wonderful wine and decanted in a special way to serve.

Really beautifull, to wait a minimum of 8 years again and more than 20 to drink it at his best
