One of those wines that I need to be in the mood to open. Hot summer days, grilled seafood salad, that usually makes the mood. Somewhat chiseled in a sense with its very firm tannins, and heightened acidity. A reliable partner at the dinner table; which is to say, not a sipping wine.

Italian Wine Scholar class at the Texas Wine School. This wine has not changed perceptibly after eight more months. It drank consistent with my July 22 2018 note. This wine is definitely dry, but its fresh red fruit cocktail profile provides a perception of sweetness. Although technically a red wine, it really looks and drinks like a Chiaretto or Southern Italian Rosato. This is a real crowd-pleaser and an excellent value at $16.00. Worth seeking out, despite its very limited production.

This is a delightful rose' made with 100% Ciliegiolo. Technically, it is from the Golfo del Tigullio - Portofino DOC, but "Portofino" is probably more recognizable from a marketing point of view. It is a vibrant, med (+) pink to pale ruby in color. The nose is clean, med intensity, with aromas of tart red cherries, raspberries, fresh herbs and wet stone. No oak. The palate is dry, with med to med (+) acidity, med alcohol (12%), low tannins, and a marked savory minerality. The palate is consistent with the nose, with a tart, crisp red fruit profile and no apparent RS. Med body, med (+) flavor intensity and length. This is a delightful summer wine which is great by itself and is very versatile with food, including, antipasti, fish stews, white meats. Drink now, as it is not intended for aging (but is still drinking fine). Also pairs well with Chinese stir fried rice.

Delicious! Very dry with a hint of effervescence on the edge of the tongue. Definite hints of cherry. Medium finish. Great food wine and great by itself.

We're calling this a "red-se" . Half way between a rose and a red wine. Had it with burgers tonight. Perfection

Closer to a red than a rose. Full flavored. Great food wine.

Dark red rose. Taste of strawberry and raspberry. Medium mouth feel. Very dry
Crisp and clean. Sustained finish. Excellent food wine.
Glad we have plenty more in the cellar.

Dry with a touch of sweetness. Reminds us of a Sangria. Very drinkable. Good food wine. R
More red than pink.
