A Californian Cabernet. On nose: coffee, ripe berry , cassis and oak. On palate: all of the above notes in addition to moderately high alcohol ...a two hour decant is necessary.....still very young. As it warms , dark fruit preserves and tobacco with warm notes of faint vanilla arrive.....ultimately this is a pricier version of the ubiquitous J.Lohr Cab.....clearly New World ....not bad, may improve with age.

Creme de cassis, red currants, cherry liqueur, and spices perfume the nose. The palate is so expressive, almost ethereal in feel. It possesses such clever complexity and obvious structure but it's so charming, plush, and inviting that it goes down way too easy. Finishes elegant and generous.

Some actual character to this wine, but still nothing to savor. Drinks at price (mid-30s, even though it's hard to believe that's the going rate). Could use a year or two more to even out, but nothing past that.
Currant, toast, marmite, tar, and leather nose. Well-balanced and structured; 15% alcohol yet still integrated and harmonious. Good, fruit and spice finish. Goofy label, serious wine. 4/5

Ruby red, lighter bodied style, some acid on entry, smooths to reveal red berries and some confection. Moderate tannins. Finishes med length. Decent steakhouse wine if lighter style is your thing.

Straightforward, simple, medium-bodied red. Not a whole lot better than a typical "house" cab at many restaurants. Inoffensive, but somewhat disappointing for $30 (Costco), let alone the list price of $45. No better IMHO than other cabs selling for 1/2 the price.
this is a wine that has to be allowed to open up fora minimum of 30 minutes. the taste is a little acidic nevertheless. it seems to be a newer style fermentation with moderate fruit taste. i probably won't buy it again. not a good QPR.

Nice but underwhelming fruity nose. Good tannins- clean finish. If the nose was more expressive I would have rated higher. Good effort

Oooh. Feel the red velvet. Inside the bottle velvety as well with its supple rounded fruit.

Inferior...maybe bottle age might have helped but the tannins and bite are a non-starter for me.

Needs a bit more acid and tannin to frame the fruit. A little flat. But nice and not at all offensive.

Has a really edgy nuance to the nose. Palate has a nice level of stuffing to deal with the edgy, crunchy acidity.
