Golden yellow and sparkling. Salinity, butterscotch nose, some prachiness and squeeze of ripe lemons. Flavours are full and fleshy, held together by a line of acidity, golden honey, pineapple and an oily spiciness. Young and fine still, lots of time left in this. Very good.

Gathering with Burgundy Lovers: Youthful but surprisingly open-knit and generous. Really high tone and spicy on the nose, loaded with pineapple, peaches, lily and saltiness. Rounded, powerful, saturated on the palate yet with nice juicy fruits and intense salinity for the balance and clean, long lingering finish w lime oil. Dangerous.

I've been on a nice run of double blind Corton Charlies, including the 2011 from Dublere about a week ago. I preferred this slightly to the 2011 and it's drinking well in its very early youth. Primary for sure, but showing some nice layering and depth of flavor. Bright acidity.

"Grand cru" blinds (Chicago, IL): Served double blind and correctly identified as white Burgundy, though I thought it was a good 1er cru. Sweet fruit on the nose, with a serious amount of power here. A touch of beautiful herbal tones here, and there's also good acidity and depth. There's a riper quality on this wine, which makes sense given the vintage, but the acidity is there to balance it out. Way to end with a bang.

Blind "Grand Cru" with Lobster & Flannery Steak (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Served double blind. Clearly white Burgundy, I thought this Grand Cru with a rich, buttery character showing good weight, but better length. Good now, with upside 2022-2031.

Thursday Cellar Visits: Domaine Amiot-Servelle, Domaine Château de la Tour and Domaine Dublère (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting. Rich while barely seeming very ripe. Lots of orchard fruit in raw and cooked forms. Great concentration, very good+ 92-94 point potential.
