  • Found this quite rustic--it's Pinot made in the style of something else, perhaps with a more oxidative, rather than reductive style that is the norm these days. Or perhaps there's a bit of Brett--floral and pasture aromas are upfront. Medium bodied, slightly disjointed in that there isn't much delineation between red fruited attack, mid-palate and short-ish finish. Comes across as an interesting table wine more than a varietal Pinot.

    Love the Castelli Nebbiolo, so either this is an off bottle or what works well for his Neb hasn't transferred perfectly to Pinot in this vintage.

  • vanilla, cherry cola, spiced plums. Medium- body with balanced structure, little tannin at first, firmed up with air. More elegant on day 2
