Deep dark purple. Nose of cherry, plum, cocoa powder, and oak. Second nose of milk chocolate, red licorice, cola, and wild strawberry. Dry on entry and lingers. Tannin structure is still there. Flavors of dark cherry and black pepper.

Purple in color. First nose of dark berries, plum, and oak. Second nose of milk chocolate covered black cherries and cola. Smooth on entry and through the plate. Initial flavors of oak and then mellows.

A combination of red and black fruits just starting to peek it's head out from the tannic curtain. This wine had great acidity up front, medium plus bodied. Red raspberry, bing cherry, blackberry all represented here with a nice mixture of herbs and lighter pie spice and black pepper to the finish. The initial impression received is that this one was still a bit locked up. After an hour or so, I'm not so sure that was really the case, as the wine was very balanced and did not seem to show a lot of astringency on the finish. Really nice wine, although I think some of their Conn offerings I will still keep the "chastity cork" and let those sit for a few years more. I believe this wine still has about 10 years left, maybe more. Would have no hesitation letting this one sit in the cellar for a while and may even have some upside potential.

Dark inky purple in color. Nose of raspberries and oak. Second nose opens up with a lot of fruit. Blueberry, blackberry, and oak. Smooth over the palate. Light and slightly dry finish with a bit of minerality.

Deep purplish ruby red. A bit mute to start on the nose, that finally started to open up after 30 minutes with some blackberries, cinnamon, graphite, gravel, bramble and cassis. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium plus bodied. Restrained palate coated with black cherries, cassis, branches, minerality, anise and light baking spices. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2034.

I could smell this for days. The cedar and blackberry is intoxicating. Flint, stone and a little moss. So approachable, even this young. Great mouth feel and looong finish. This will go the distance for sure. Amazing wine.

I say it every time, but I’m always surprised at how much more accessible this wine is compared to their Cabernet. I associate mountain wines with gripping tannins and while this is still quite youthful, it is so incredibly plush. Relentless dark fruits that power through each phase. Fresh squeezed blackberries over everything with a lavender and some smoked meat notes. Lavender, plum, cassis and baking spice.

Black fruit and oak on the nose. BlackBerry, blueberry, oak and a bit of tar. A touch of spice but not over powering. Good mouth feel. Long finish. Probably needs a few more years in the cellar.

Friday light tasting (Home with Greg): While this was delightful on its own. it did not measure up to either of the Beringer Private Reserves.
Light classic cinnamon and vanilla.
On the body, moderate tannins and full bodied. However a little linear and single dimensioned compared to the Private Reserve tonight.

Delicious. Plenty of oak still present, fruit shines through as it opens up. At least a few years of good showing left
