  • A combination of red and black fruits just starting to peek it's head out from the tannic curtain. This wine had great acidity up front, medium plus bodied. Red raspberry, bing cherry, blackberry all represented here with a nice mixture of herbs and lighter pie spice and black pepper to the finish. The initial impression received is that this one was still a bit locked up. After an hour or so, I'm not so sure that was really the case, as the wine was very balanced and did not seem to show a lot of astringency on the finish. Really nice wine, although I think some of their Conn offerings I will still keep the "chastity cork" and let those sit for a few years more. I believe this wine still has about 10 years left, maybe more. Would have no hesitation letting this one sit in the cellar for a while and may even have some upside potential.
