As good as a bottle that we had last month. Struck match reduction and pristine orchard fruit aromas and flavours. There is ripeness coupled with containment and something cool and minerally. Great chew and chalky dry extract. Supremely youthful.

(Bgn GC 2015 tasting, semi-blind) Fullish nose. Toast and modelling clay. Youghurt malo nose. Vanilla and apple. Spice and gun-powder emerge with time in glass. A bit shut at first. Medium-fullish, fullish palate. Balanced. Some flowers and fat notes. Very good grip. Elegant and a bit thin in the company. After time in glass more toast, gun-powder and almot pop-corn appears. Lovely and shows that this village wine can stand in the company of GC giants. Even more potential with 3-5 more years.

Opened for Christmas at Otto e Mezzo in HK. Decanted for 1.5 hours before enjoying slowly in the glass.
This was very tightly wound - as you'd expect, but even more than my other bottles. However, with air, it started yielding its secrets - signature Coche matchstick and flinty notes, but balanced by rich nutty, buttery flavours that complimented the acidity wonderfully.
Can drink now, but I think there's some upside. Revisit in 3+ years, but it will definitely keep for longer.
Enjoyed with the Thirsty Arab, what a way to spend Christmas.

Just a tiny bit of reduction with notes of apples, orange blossoms, citrus, and minerals on the nose. There's a lot going on and it gained some weight with air, showing more creamy/buttery flavors. Nice acidity and very well balanced with a rich but not heavy mouthfeel and more citrus notes on the palate. Long finish. Great wine, will definitely be better in 5 years. 94+

Absolutely stunning wine in a beautiful spot right now, even though it clearly has the potential to age further. Punches way above its weight for a village Meursault, and was utterly delightful.

(Blind tasting) Full, rich and powerful nose! Toasty, nutty and very deep. Lovely gun-powder, Coche-like reduction. Perfectly balanced oak. Spicy. But also lovely deep fruit of yellow melon and yellow apple. Almost Vosne-like Chinese Five-spice aromas. Fullish and rich palate. But also very balanced in the powerful style. The oak and fruit and the acidic freshness is in perfect balance. Very good grip. Gun-powder, nuts and yellow orchard fruit. Very long and intense. A delight to drink. White Burg at its best. Once again. Coche (Village!) in blind tasting sweeps a Grand Cru (that was too mature, though)

Blind side by side 13 Coche Meursault. The 15 won my heart for its lovely depth, breadth and caramel/creme brulee notes - I would have guessed quite a bit older based on how lovely this was drinking leaving the feeling of a complete wine already. Crazy good for the level and vintage and seems to be in a great spot already.

Coche-Dury Meursault 2015. 95p

Bottles drunk with lunch or dinner while in Burgundy; 2/10/2020-2/14/2020 (Burgundy): Third visit to Castel Tre Girard since Nov 17, and this is still on the list :-) ... Perhaps it's now shutting down just a touch as the aromas have lost that 5th and 6th gear of intensity but its still remarkably full on the nose and layered on the palate. Stuffed with chalky, chunky orchard fruit that is offset with balancing acidity. 92-93 points today with upside as this settles in and opens back up.

Burgundy, Day 2 (Beaune, France): At Castel de Très Girard. The nose initially shows only a bit of reduction but paradoxically this seems to grow with air. The palate is quite broad, with a good amount of ripe fruit and acidity, but at the same time this doesn't seem to have the same amount of layered complexity as some earlier editions of this wine (I'm thinking especially of a 2011 that I had a few years ago). Truth be told, even though this is quite a delicious bottle of chardonnay, it's a bit of a let down given the name on the label.

While I have been disappointed by Raphael’s 2013 vintage, his 2015 gave me some hope. Decanted to served. Coche-like gunflint, flint, stone and citrus. Very reductive but also intense with a big citrus squeeze on finish. Seems promising. 92-93

Quite young to consume at this stage, hard to assess the wine. Nose was slightly reductive, and with citrus, flinty stony fruits, salted butter, and strong minerals. It wasn’t able to present the Coche intensity/complexity yet on the palate, a bit early to enjoy.

18 months later, this is still on the list for a great price at Castel Tre Girard. Full on Coche with a full, rich and expressive nose of dense white fruit with moderate levels of reduction. Fat and ripe but quite fresh on the palate. A good vintage young, lets see how it ages.

A strong note of petrol reduction, in a most pleasant way I might add. This is ripe, round and intense, loaded with sappy orchard fruits. There’s some almond butter and a hint of aniseed. The finish has plenty of dry extract and it is a nice drink today but needs a few years in the cellar.

One of the most acidic wines I have had from Meursault ever. And considering it is a warm vintage that is pretty impressive. Classic nose of wet salty stone minerals and lemon notes. Super integrated oaky scents of delicate sweet caramel. Elegant with a cool fresh herby touch. Oily on the palte but with that acidic backbone the balance is superb.

5 Great Burgundys at Michelin * restaurant (Riquevihr Alsace): Tasted 3 white Meursaults against each other. The winner was Coche Dury Meursault 2015 with 95 points - better aromas but not quite as good flavours as no 2 Lafon Meursault 2012 with 94 points. Mikulski Goutte D'Or 2015 had too much not integrated acidity. A little austere and I miss a little butter, minerality and a touch of oak - not my style and not the usual style from Meursault.

One Years Work, One Nights Tasting (Morrell Wine): Here I found a rich display of crushed stone, smoke, minerals and ripe stone fruits, with added depths the longer it spent in the glass. On the palate, soft, enveloping textures took control, ushering in citrus-infused young peach offset by zesty acids, and then drenching minerality with inner yellow florals. The finish was long and saturating with ripe stone fruits, minerals, hints of sweet spice and lingering smokiness. Wow, what a wine.

Flint, florale toner, og krydder i retning anis. Smooth og fyldig munnfølelse. Elegant - dette drikker bra nå. Konsentrert frukt og pen syre. Mineralene løfter vinen her. Flott balansert. Vokser i glasset til stor vin. Elsker dette! Lang lineær fokusert finish.

Enorm vin.

Ripe yellow orchard fruits, honey, roses. It takes a while to get through all that fruit to sense some acidity and minerality. Lacks the energy that I have seen in the better 2015 whites and needs time to shed some of its baby fat.

Afterparty (Weingut Keller, Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Germany): Really hard to give the right rating here. Thank god we had this double blind, so you´re not influenced by the label which is always a big factor imo. Good amount of fruit, minerals and complexity on the nose. The acidity is rather medium, medium to full bodied. I missed the last kick and tension on the mid-palate and in the finish. Don´t get me wrong, this is a very good wine but for a Domaine with such a high reputation I expected more. Maybe the wine just needs more time.

Boom! Ren kurve. Meget lang og stram finish. Uttalt mineralitet som nesten oppleves som tanniner. Coche er kongen! 95p+

Burgundy bottles drunk with lunch or dinner while in Burgundy; 11/20/2017-11/25/2017: Off the wine list at Castel de Tres Girard in MSD. A splurge at a un-passable price. Pop n' pour and enjoyed over 90 minutes. This was fairly forward, flashy and showy with loads of everything. Great density and concentration -- unbelievable for a village wine. Ripe fruit and minerals beams across the palate. The rich fruit is well contained/supported by fresh acids. Delicious to the last drop. Worth it? That's an interesting debate.

The finish was long and saturating with ripe stone fruits, minerals, hints of sweet spice and lingering smokiness. Wow, what a wine.

Flint, florale toner, og krydder i retning anis.
Smooth og fyldig munnfølelse.
Elegant - dette drikker bra nå.
Konsentrert frukt og pen syre.
Mineralene løfter vinen her.
Flott balansert.
Vokser i glasset til stor vin.
Elsker dette!
Lang lineær fokusert finish.

Made for an interesting contrast to the '14 alongside. Quite enjoyable now and better than the last bottle.

A difficult comparison with the '14 alongside, but certainly enjoyable.

Boom!
