Kompakt mörk färg med en klarröd rand. Doft av damm, blåbär, kokta körsbär och nejlikor. Markant syra, lite hetta från alkoholen, liten stävhet. Kort. Helt ok, men mer privsärt med single vineyard vintage?

very dark ruby with tawny rim. notes of prunes, fig and cherry mingle with clove accents and whiffs of alcohol. jammy in the mouth with some layers of fruit buoyed by notable acidity. moderate finish with subtle medicinal notes. not particularly structured, so no point in ageing this port.
20% AbV; ~100g/L RS; bottled in 2022.

Great match for salty blue cheese, there is lots of bright fruit here, cherries, sweet plum, and some herby notes, leading into a tangy intense clove and singed caramel finish.

Ruby red. Nose is spicy with a hint of cherry. Bold with spice, followed by tea and dry cherry. None of the sweet chocolate that I usually expect, but perhaps some cocoa in the lengthy finish. I enjoy this.

I've tried different LBV's over the last year - Kopke lbv 2016 & 2018 - Taylor's lbv 2017 - Smith Woodhouse LBV 2009
And i gotta say, that overall LBV's is not worth the money.
Kopke and Fonseca are similar: You have overcooked wine, a bunch of sugar and just to fuck it up, add vodka = won't touch it ever again. 80 points
Taylor's is more decent: You have the dark fruits but not to much. The balance between acidity, sugar and alcohol level is good = a well made LBV i could have a glass of with People that is not "wine-people" 88 points
Smith Woodhouse: My good god, this is quality! Its fat, its sirupy, its sticky. Dark fruits, secondary notes, perfect balance of sugar, alcohol, acidity AND it serves you well after a looong decant. I actually think it comes close to Taylor vintage, just a little sweeter = buy this LBV and go to hell with the others, 93 points

Quite nice. Fruity, rich, sweet, dark cherries, prunes, figs, easy drinking. It went down well to finish a group tasting. Quite long. Good with Wensleydale cheese and a rich fruitcake.

Medium plus intensity on the nose with black plum, blackberry, chocolate, cooked blackberry, leather, tobacco, and prune. Developing.
Medium plus intensity and sweet on the palate with blackberry jam and raisin coming through. Full body, high alcohol, medium plus acidity, medium plus chalky tannins, medium plus finish.
Can drink now but has potential for aging.
Enjoyable LBV. Good value for the price.
A bit hot on the nose but no issue on the palate. Would be great with strong cheese!

This was a more enjoyable bottle. No true vintage character, unsurprisingly but good gutsy fruit & well proportioned.

Deep ruby. Lots of black fruits, blunt; rugged, thick palate; pedestrian finish.
