Nice colour, mid cherry. Sound pinot nose. Nice balance, not over sweet. Touch of raspberries, root vegetables & earthiness which I liked. Didn't show the alcohol either (14.5%). Very decent.

Appropriately pale; smoky, strawberried, distinctly Pinot; opens up well, decent fruit, marked acidity; astringent, pinched finish. May open up & fill out with a couple of years, but this is not a sure thing. 24 hours on this had softened & rounded out.

Alcohol: 14.1% Acidity: Tart and lively Price: $17.99 Aromas – Light to Moderate; strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, mineral aspects. Light wood scent Color – light to medium color depth. ruby Tannin – soft, easy drinking tannins Flavor – Light to Medium bodied. Medium Dry; Moderate Flavors. raspberry, black cherry, black tea vanilla, peppery spice. Touch of dark chocolate Finish – moderate
My Notes: Still searching for a solid pinot for under $20 (which is increasingly rare these days) and Calera does a solid job. Nose is fresh and light. With strawberry, raspberry and cherry tones. Interesting woodsy and mineral aspects surround the fruit. Taste is light and again fresh. With a bright red fruit. However, the fruit are restrained extremely well and there is more tannin and dryness to this pinot than is typical. Personally, I found that it added a firmness and structure to the wine that was quite elegant. The wine’s transition offers a touch of sour cherry rolled in black tea leaf to the profile. Finishes with pepper and a very subtle dark chocolate component... as the red fruit still continue to carry through the delicious finish. I absolutely agree another's comment saying this was a nice balance between over-extracted CA pinot and a more terroir-driven Burgundy

Ruby; floral, strawberries, cherries, earth; toasty, juicy cherry, medium body, decent balance, short finish. Ready-to-drink and a nice example of a ripe, fruity, new world pinot. I don't find Calera's style to be my preference however.

Enjoyed this at our Thursday night Delorenzo's Tomato Pies in Trenton (Hudson Street). Opened for about 45 minutes before we left the house to let it breathe. Clear and transparent medium ruby red color. Nose had lots of black cherry, overwhelmed by even more raspberry with hints of earth. Not entirely sure how to describe it, but it had hints of spice reminding me much of the cookies you find around the holidays refered to as "Holiday Jingles." I know, that sounds nuts, and my wife thought I was crazy as well. Very tasty wine that I would buy again in a heartbeat at the price. Very enjoyable!

Tasted at a retail tasting. This pinot exhibited a dark ruby color with a nose of dried cherries, raspberies with a minerally edge. On the palate, black cherries and plums were on the forefront leading to a earthy cherry finish. Still a solid value at $19.99. For those seeking a balance between the over-extracted fruity CA Pinot and the earthy terroir-driven Burgundy, this is a wonderful choice. HS88

Light purple-red color, clear & transparent. Palate shows medium light body, obviously ripe & Californian, but well balanced. Uncharacterictically for a Cal wine, this is stuffed full of minerality creating complexity and interest. Excellent value ($19). 14.5% alc.

Surprisingly delicious for a $33 restaurant purchase - I assume its about $18 retail. This wine was light-medium bodied, fresh tasting and juicy with red cherries. Excellent value.

Light pink in color. Very thin and overly acidic. Next to the 05 SS Botella this was hard to drink.

Funky nose of earth and sour cherry. Overly acidic with some bright strawberry notes...almost tart. Popped and poured.
