  • 2nd of 3 bottles, last consumed about 3 yrs ago. I would buy this by the case in the future, what a WFTM.
Gorgeous Chenin from Chinon (Baudry, nonetheless), up front notes of some tropical and tree fruits, a squirt of lime, some quinine and perhaps lychee. Certainly minerals and a spicy kick that shows this wine (just $21 USD) has class and pedigree. Great acid on the long and tangy finish.
Love this, I'll drink my remaining bottle in the next 1-2 yrs but it will likely last another decade plus if you like your Chenin with age...

  • Yup!!! Not a mistake. One of the most exciting and delicous white wines that I have had. This is like hittting a wiffle ball out of Yankee stadium.

Have you ever had a wine at that moment when everything just falls into place and it could not show any better? Not a single edge to the wine and it gives you all it’s got? Well this is it.

I have had a handful of these experiences; 82 Mouton out of a 1/2 bottle in 1989, 1983 DRC Montrachet in 1996, 1998 Soldera Brunello Riserva in 2010, 1985 Calrea Jensen Pinot in 2007, 1947 Coffinet Batard Montrachet in 2010 (fairness that was at the winery), 1998 La Fluer Petrus out of magnum in 2015 and now this. You imagine a $22 Chenin from a lesser appellation kicking you in the dick like those masterpieces? Well here it is. I am telling you that this is an absolutely amazing experience.

Oh, the wine??? Ever have a great Chablis with age that you swear saw barrel? Well, this has that Smokey, leesy, toastiness. Loaded with baked apples, grilled pineapples, super ripe peaches, orange peel and white pepper. Just amazing. And to think, I was pissed that this was the only under $30 white in my fridge to drink with my chicken. Balls!! Talk about punishment.

  • Earthy, toasted coconut and pineapple, apricot, marmalade, while flowers fill out the nose. Mouth has nice minerality round, ripe off-dry flavors. Really nice.

  • light, crisp, easy drinking. went well with Thai. Not as much depth as a Riesling.

  • Beach week; 7/20/2018-7/28/2018: Always delivers. Love this wine and it's complexity and depth. Huge hit at dinner after the beach.

  • Light gold color. So salty on the nose, like crusty limestone and smashed sea shells, with raw almond, apricot and orange marmalade notes. Precise, focused on the palate, this has so much vibrancy and mineral depth. Crushed shells, limemstone, chalk dust and shaved ginger on top of yellow apples and orange marmalade. Lovely depth, this is salty and crystalline. So good for the money.
