Tasted over 2 hrs and day 2 -med dark red mild clearing -cassis black cherry; less expressive on day 2 -med acidity, med weight ripe cassis black cherry stony iron minerality, somewhat austere chalky med tannins and a whisper of wood on the reasonably long finish; more depth of ripe dark fruit on day 2 - delicious -drinking very well now, killer quality for a Bourgogne - could be a NSG village or even a lower end 1er cru

This could easily use 4-10 more years. We drank over a couple nights. It got a 2hr slow ox in Burg glasses on night one and was mostly closed. Night 2 it fleshed out with some dark raspberry, earth, mineral & spice. 87-89 on night 2 but still reluctant to blossom into something impressive, yet. I love Chevillon & feel this will come of it shell and really sing from 2026+.

Pure and easy drinking with savoury raspberries and sweet wild strawberries. Delicate and clean with an earthy undertone of autumn leafs and fresh herbs. A bit of toast in the finish. That’s not so bad!

Buy entry level bottles from good producers. Something Glen suggested to me. Sometimes it doesn’t work out but when it does, as was the case with this Robert Chevillon Bourgogne, it’s a great value play. Good weight and depth. Nice dark cherry, black raspberry, sous bois. Lacking some refinement but hey, it was $30.

My first of 4 btls and wishing now, I had at least 2 more. While always one of smartest buys in Burgundy 2016 might be the best I've had yet? A semi translucent, gem like, ruby red color. It has the added density and complexity of the more highly touted ler Crus. There's real depth here with a plethora of aromas and flavors along with a very energetic richness. Love the mix of raspberry, cherry, mineral, spice and hint of underbrush. Not a pomegranate flavor per se but, there is that juicy burst in your mouth from this super fresh and pure fruit. 12.5% alc is admirable in this day and age. I slow oxed this in glass and btl for 2 hours before dinner. Dam, I need to keep stuff my cellar with more Chevillon!

This is a tasty Bourgogne Rouge! Grapes are sourced near their more famous 1er cru sites in NSG. Very juicy and very fruit forward with bright raspberry, delicate floral notes and an integrated oaky whiff. A bit tight on opening but with just an hour of air it is drinking nicely.

A very serious Bourgogne rouge. Rich and meaty, dark cherries, raspberries with some spice. Still brooding.

Light, fresh, and surprisingly juicy with black cherry and soil. Perfect amount of acidity and more pleasure than I expected
