  • Mild acidity, hints of crisp apple, elegant without being light. This coastal chardonnay hits the mark again. Just enough oak and fat to support all of the wonderful green fruit. One caveat, I think we enjoyed it too cold, out if the fridge and into a bucket of ice. Not my preference. The bottle did not last long enough for it to warm to cellar temps. As to cellaring, I think it is drinking its best now.

  • Tasted on day 2, owner who shared said it was similar to day 1; lots of lemon, almost grilled, no obvious oak; lees on the palate give this great texture and waxiness on the finish, lots of yellow lemon apple and peach, very pure, acids were a bit soft open and ready in my opinion, almost a touch of alcohol warmth on the finish even though this was only 13.2%, possibly not the best year of this bottling but delicious nonetheless.

  • I used to be very down on Chardonnay from California. Over the past several years, I have begun to change my mind and today, I think wines from Marcassin, Aubert and Littorai are among the best in the world. While Littorai may not get the attention of the other two producers, I find their wines to be in the same class. This bottle has a light gold color. The nose has lemon curd, nectarine and a mild spice element. The palate is layered yet precise. Excellent depth and palate presence. A fine effort for their regional bottling. Should age well for 5 to 7 years. (92)

  • PnP. Light greenish gold. Lovely nose of orchard fruits with some herb and tropical notes. A touch sweet on the palate but with lovely fruit density and acidity. Still drinking well 3 days after opening with storage in the fridge. Lovely wine but not great QPR.

  • Ungrafted: Blinds with Peter and Robert (Ungrafted, SF): (Blind) Pale straw.
    Dry.
Expressive medium plus intensity aromatics. Peach, slight mustiness.
Slight impression of oak - or maybe malo? Maybe 15% new French?
Dry, medium plus body, 13.5% (actually 13.2%) alcohol, medium acid, high bitterness (really abnormally high).
Based on the slight terpenic notes, I think this is a dry, elevated terpenes white.

    Laterals:
    - Albarino - wouldn't have oak, and wouldn't be this bitter.
    - Viognier / Condrieu - would probably be more terpenic and higher in alcohol.

On the balance, I think this is more likely to be an off-vintage Condrieu.
Also it's a bit faded, aromatically.
2013 Condrieu. Poor quality and not in good shape.

On re-tasting, it's super oaky. Maybe Sonoma Chardonnay? It's not

This is super bitter. Like really bitter.

  • Beautiful yellow diamond in color. Structured lemon custard on nose and initial taste. Medium in body that is balanced between a crispness and a rich, smooth, lingering finish. I bought this wine twice on a menu, and I enjoyed it each time.
