  • I bought this wine in 2018 and waited patiently since then for the right opportunity to open it to complement my wife's cooking. I decided tonight was that time to drink it with pork tenderloin in a mushroom mustard cream sauce. In hindsight, this beautiful wine, with finesse and luscious fruit flavors, was overshadowed rather than complemented (IMO) the baby bella mushroom and mustard cream sauce. My bad. After dinner I finished the bottle after dinner with a few slices of brie and realized this was an unfortunate case of right wine, wrong place. In the last several month, we have been drinking bigger, bolder Sonoma pinots such as Wayfarer, Flowers and Hansel with pork and other dishes. Having never tasted any of Anthill's wines, I assumed it would be of the same ilk coming from Sonoma's Green Valley. I intend to seek out other Anthill bottlings and be more aware of what it will go with. Lesson learned.

  • Improved with about 75 mins of air (Audozed). Good balance. A touch less expressive on nose and palate than previous vintages, I think. Very food friendly.

  • Had some interesting herbal notes with a cherry dominant fruit. Would have liked to have more

  • 3rd visit, and somewhat different impressions from previous. Bramble, raspberries, strawberries, lemon peach, herbs notes and spices. Really nice stuff, as always. And great QPR.

  • 2nd visit, a year later. PnP, and terrific from the start. A big change from prior impressions. Ripe red peach, raspberries, blackberries, white figs. Dried herbs and lingering sweetness on the finish.

  • Again and again

I can get back to that wine and still enjoy it deeply, after the Barbaresco it was not an easy task but it did well, so well !

Med+ intensity, with herbs, and spice, some may sy stalky or stem but it really gives vibrancy to the wine... top it with the fruit flavors of raspberry and strawberries, and you have a delicate noise of Pinot

Palate is med+ intensity, med+ acidity, med to low tannins, med alcohol, very good length due to acid driven wine finish with cherries, spice, cinnamon, herbs, very refined and elegant, not as powerful or deep and long as the best Littorai or Hirsch etc... Still much better than most Oregon I had so far IE

Great Effort again from Anthony Filiberty, I need to have more of those and on more recent years

  • Hey you...

We meet again, Tina Marie I missed you...

The wine does not show that much first, but still has a nice crushed cherry smell, and some refined stalks maybe leave character, after a good moment of aeration, the perfumy style pops out of the Zalto glass... big, big, with hints of herbal sensations here, little ripe berries, cherry, earth, and more ...

palate is vibrant and has consistency on the Pinot side, fresh, elegant, refined, and has a great length... some Umami, and salty finish, so enjoyable, very delicate and deep wine at the same time...

Will easily stand to a Great Village wine in Burg, and some premiers crus for sure ...

Nice, Nice, nice, I m so happy I opened it ...

  • I'm with PLIU and STANROCKS. More old school Pinot with slightly tart rhubarb, mulled red fruit, kind of savory.
Excellent change of pace from the fruit forward style, of which I am also a fan, but you do need proper expectations. I've also had the Baker Ranch, Campbell Ranch and the Comptche Ridge and they are pretty consistent in style...and all scored, for me, in the 92-94 range.
If it's big and bold walls of fruit you're after, avoid the Anthill Pinots.
But for a restrained, elegant more traditional Pinot (with modern sensibilities) do not hesitate to pick one up.

  • This wine is absolutely stunning. Stanrocks is right on. Even if you turn your nose up to Cali pinots, you can't knock this one. It is ethereal, uplifting and so full of cool red, and earthy fruits. The is fruit forward with total finesse. If you are a pinot drinker, then I would completely ignore the other tasting notes putting it in the upper 80's. It's in a great zone, I would not hold for more than 4 years. The fresh cool fruits is what makes this wine special.

  • People of the community what is wrong with you guys... ???

That wine is just great and in a great spot right now, I can understand the lack of power but man it's a Pinot, not a Cab Sav or Syrah, that fragrant whole cluster type of wine is full of fruit, infusion like, berries, in a Reynaud kind of way, elegant and spicy. Palate is subtle with loads of fruit and tangy acidity.
No Power there but great smoothness, on the edge of natural wine but still here a lot ! Loved it

  • Pretty if not particularly deep pinot. Bright cherry, pretty red fruit, with decent acidity. A slightly astringent finish detracts a bit.

  • Nothing to add to Vinous’s note: “compact and lacking in fruit and depth. Not much here.”

  • Pop and pour and initially tasted with food (pork chops, and rice and beans with toasted zucchini chips, in case you were wondering).
    Light ruby color.
Nose is quite floral, with red berries, tangerine peel, and a hint of smoke (toasted oak barrells, likely).
Fresh fruit flavor, with a light mouthfeel. Good acidity, with a spice note on the finish.
    Good, not quite outstanding.
Refrigerated half of the bottle and tasted the following day after allowing to warm up a bit. The wine showed a slight bitter profile the second day.

  • On the riper plush side. Nice dark red fruit profile. Wish it had more depth and bit more acidity.

  • Slightly hazy light ruby color. Clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of red currant, raspberry, strawberry, tomato leaf, mushrooms. Wine is youthful. On the palate it is dry with medium plus acidity, medium minus tannins, medium alcohol, medium minus body and medium flavor intensity of raspberry, strawberry, wet stone, mint. The finish is medium. Good wine. Drink now or age further.

  • Bright ruby and brilliant colour. Mild and seductive aromas of tart red cherries, dried cranberry, sweet raspberry, thyme and hints of mould and smoke. Medium-bodied, juicy and quite complex. Definitely Burgundian style, with an long finish driven by juicy red berries, accompanied by milk chocolate, herbs and earthy notes.

  • This was really good. What to say.. it’s got zippy acidity, authentic feeling red fruits, well balanced, and a moderately lengthy finish. Love the soft wax capsule, too. Another win for anthill farms

  • Medium crimson ruby. Agree this is a very Burgundian style graceful pinot from a cool micro climate showing floral fruits with a sense of ground and moss. Extremely well done.

  • Delicate, quiet, and a bit musty. A very calm Pinot, Burgundian style. Brooding, long finish. What a joy! Thyme, crushed pepper, sour cherries, quince and pear, but not fruit forward. Enjoy now, but certainly can hold for at least a few years.
