  • Lovely, really lovely.

2 hour+ decant. Drank over the following few hours. This really stayed on it's toes and kept the drive and persistence going.

Loads of blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, and red currants on the palate. This Italian Bordeaux blend is rustic, elegant, and focused. The subtle mid to long finish, had me wanting more. (And more I had ;)

Some dusty tannins are present but I certainly didn't mind it and didn't take away from my enjoyment of this. They should however meld with more time in the bottle. Perhaps another 2 years.

There's nothing not to like here, at least not for me.

  • From magnum. Brought with us to Prime 88 in Brooksville to share with friends. Still a youthful-looking, dark magenta in color - right up to the edge. Very powerful and complex aromas of leather, tobacco, baking spices and Tuscan soil on the nose. On the palate this took a good 45 minutes to finally open up. Kept getting better and better throughout the evening. Full-bodied and rich in texture, but not over done. Bursting with a dazzling assortment of dark currant, plum and blackberry fruit flavors. Shows excellent depth and focus on the mid-palate. Finishes extremely long with prominent notes of licorice, spice and mineral. The velvety tannins are just beginning to integrate in this format. Complex, harmonious and delicious. A magnificent Guado al Tasso that is powerful, yet elegant. Paired beautifully with the Porterhouse for two that Kerry and I shared.

  • Too young to rate. Overpowering tannins currently overmatching the fruit and character. Wait 5 years.

  • Incredible showing for the 2015 Guado Al Tasso. This may be Italy’s most underrated great wine. Bravo.

  • This was superb after opening and decanting 3.5 hours, and as we finished the bottle 1.5 hours later it was still evolving beautifully

  • 62 CS; 18 Merlot; 18 CF; 2 PV. Deep, almost opaque black ruby. The bouquet displays undergrowth, broken dry twigs, leaves, and warm dark fruits. As the wine opens further, it reveals black cherry, mulberry and blackcurrant, whilst the savoury edge shows bracken, graphite, dried earth and a cigar box.
Full-bodied the, bone-dry the texture is leathery to plum skin in feel, the acid lively whilst the flavours are intense with plenty of dark fruits: blackcurrant jam to nastergaal and then liquorice, dark 100% chlorate, coffee grinds, yeast extract and leather.
Excellent concentration, the tannins are firm and compact with not a touch of fat or sweetness - very much dry. Certainly, this is a powerful, massive penetrating style, big and perhaps lacking charm or perhaps tight-lipped there is already integrated alcohol, layers of complexity and a youthfulness that promises more will unfold. Leave for another 10+ years. It did go well with the Spaghetti bog!

  • Decanted & consumed within 2 hours with pasta. Dark fruit, cassis, and spice flavors. Drying tannins that still need a few years to integrate. Last glass was the best glass, which to me means this required a few hours more air before enjoying. Note to self - revisit in 2025.

  • This is progressing and smoothing out quite nicely since my last bottle a year-and-a-half ago; more seamless and readily willing to find a decent glide after about three hours of decanted air (remaining at cool cellar temperature throughout consumption: 52-54 degrees). Plum, dusty black raspberry, black and red currant, topsoil, and hints of Asian spice and cedar notes all amalgamate with purpose, finishing with a gradually increasing grip of acidity and tension and a tinge of dustiness on the tip on the tongue.

The depth is somewhat slow to arrive, but it gains weight and mid-palate pitch toward the final sips, indicating that this still has a few years before it will likely decide to drop into its full compliment of potency and substance. It might never be a heavy-hitter, but it's got class, style, flavor, and fun all wrapped in a charming and engaging disposition.

2025 is when optimum consumption may fittingly come about. If you're being a stickler on these, best to hold a few years. If you just can't wait and your impatience is getting the best of you, you certainly won't be mad at yourself for opening now, but a decant will certainly serve you well. 95-96 points.

The 2016 undoubtedly has that extra thwack of intensity compared to its more cuddle-buddy ska-vibin' 2015 sibling, but the 2015's more medium-channeled demeanor is definitely not without active resolve and perseverance. It'll learn how to exceedingly bulge its biceps a touch more in a few years.

  • Huge wine. Brooding dark purple belly. Lots of flavour powers out of the glass at first pour. Big Bordeaux blend from Bulgari with cassis, big dark black fruit and vanilla on the nose. Blue and white flowers round out the nose. On the palate is dark cherry and milk chocolate, moving into graphite and pencil shavings and the finish lingers for 2 minutes. Excellent even now with 2 decades still to improve.

  • Pours deep purple. Intense aroma - more black fruit than red, a little bit earthy.

Bold and tooth staining on the palate. Very acidic with medium tannins.

This is a big wine, bold and full of body. Worthy of decanting.

  • 2 hour decant and it started to show its true colors. Deep color and smooth on the palate. Will only get better with time. Drank this with an Italian dinner and was a great compliment. All in group thought it was the highlight of the meal

  • Pours a deep purple, with aromas of earthy blackberry and cedar. Same on the palate, with unsmoked tobacco, black plum, black currant, Christmas spice, incense, earthy soil, and some burnt embers. A fantastic delivery of flavor after a couple hours in the decanter. Finishes full but superbly balanced and focused. The tail carries elevated cedar and spicebox notes.

This will be seemingly epic in 7+ years, but it is performing surprisingly well with some decanted air. This has a bit more concentration than the 2013, which I also liked very much. Drink or hold, but the latter might be difficult to do given the accessibility of this wine. 95-96+ points.

  • Purple and opaque. The cabernet dominates the nose where there are only modest floral notes. The nose is dark fruit, cassis, and tobacco leaf. Round palate with modest acidity where the dark fruit still dominates. The finish is lingering black ripe plums. 5+12+17+8=92

  • This is still a bit tight even after a bit of air. There is a lot of potential here and a suspect my score will improve with time in the bottle. This has a nice but slightly reserve nose of cassis and black fruit. The palateis structure and linear with excellent definition. There are flavors of black fruit, dark cherry, tobacco and herbs and a long finish

  • Tasted next to 2016 Il Bruciato. More depth and complexity - on the nose notes of tobacco, red and mostly black fruit, spicy, smoky, mineral. On the palate grippy and firm, generous and pure fruit, bright acidity. Very well balanced, needs time, but very promising. Very long. 93-94+

  • Drank at Osteria di Passignano Antinori restaurant as part of a flight including Solaia and Tignanello. Disappointed with this wine considering the price point. Black fruit forward, mild tannins. Elegant but low complexity, rather simple compared to the other 2 wines.

  • Antinori Dinner with Allegra Antinori (Margot, Loandon): Dark and dense in color. Very much the young oaky bolgheri wine we expected. Took its time to develop and definitely an hour or so post opening it was a lot less aggressive but still this is a very young wine and unless one likes that rich super primary and oaky side this is one to age. Very fine tannin and very round on the edges. Too young for us to rate but much like the Tignanello 2015 we had before full of promise.

  • 62% CS, 18% Merlot, 18% CF, 2% PV

Needs a few years to open up, but like others are saying, it has all the right stuff in it. Dark color, cassis and fruit aromas, dark fruit, cedar and dark chocolate. Smooth silky tannins. Another 3-5 years before ready.

  • Tasted at Antica Winery on Atlas Peak. A special experience envelope and conclusion of wonderful tasting paired with fruits and cheese. This is a youthful wine that needs taming with time or decanting. But all the right notes and flavors are there. Dark fruits, cedar, toasty spices.
