Fantastic bottle. This is in a perfect place for my taste to drink. Great depth of fruit and complexity, the acidity and freshness are just what you’d want and some mineral elements showing through. No hints of premox

Don't do many post, from my cellar. Although this wine merit a post. It was truly outstanding & the wine was still getting better until the end. It definitely showed it pedigree of a La Montrachet. I think the wine God's were smiling on us last night 🌙.

La Tâche Dinner (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Another disappointing and oxidized bottle of this incredibly inconsistent wine. My previous bottle (in 2019) was stunning, tonight's very oxidized.

Champagne Dinner in Champaign (NAYA - Champaign IL): Dark color, but no oxidation worries this time. Floral aromas with sweet spice, mint and mature, ripe orchard fruit. Similar flavors stayed fresh for an hour+ in glass with so much density. This kept unfolding without getting tired. Best bottle of this wine I can ever recall.

Tenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): This has been a very inconsistent wine, but tonight's bottle was probably the best I've had in years. Lots of ripe apple with plenty of stone fruit, particularly on the palate. Intense, long and very powerful.

Birthday Dinner with Good Wine (NEXT Restaurant - Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Age appropriate level of maturity. Lots of ripe stone fruit with very charming spice. Very enjoyable today, but slightly short of energy and I wouldn't risk cellaring many of these long-term.

Initially I thought perhaps a bit corked. This seemed to blow off. Great volume, concentration and depth on the palate. Rich, long. Adequate acidity. Quite nice.

Charlie Trotter's Goodbye with Jayer, Meo, and Rouget: Nose slow to open, but does show light citrus fruits tangerine, orange, almond. Big mouthfull of wine, rich soft long with great weight and mouthfeel. A almost lush quality to the texture and delicate quality to the flavors. Lots of dry extract. Finishes in elagant way, but a tad short.

diep geel, de leeftijd toont zich, geur is meer ingetogen, meer mineraal dan fruit, komt later weer mooier los, smaak is prettig met diepgang en mooie balans, heeft nog even de tijd, maar zal niet mooier meer worden

Birthday Dinner (Inovasi - Lake Bluff IL): Lots of ripe peach aromas with new oak spice, also showing more advancement and maturity than other better bottles. Ripe peach flavors with big, lush spice. Wonderful minerality, less precise acidity from this bottle tonight.

Celebration Dinner (Inovasi, Lake Bluff, IL): Very ripe yellow stone fruit aromas with a bit of creme brulee and wood spice. Rich fruits on the palate that coat the entire mouth. A good bit of vanilla on the palate. More evolved than the last one I had, but still very good.

1999 Montrachet and Friends: Lieu-dit Cru 3rd Annual Blind White Burgundy Dinner (Spring - Chicago IL): Single blind flight. Never had this wine before. Starts with ripe peach on nose which continues on to palate, then evolves into flavors of lemon and lemon zest. Rich and (almost) tropical to start with incredible structure and acidity on the end. Staggering length. Will last for decades. Really fantastic.

Rich, smoky and exotic. In the mouth it possesses great spherical shape as the tropical fruits fan out and then congregate to tighten up at the finish. It is generous and giving at this stage, drinking absolutely in the zone. Not great Montrachet but an absolutely delicious drink that partnered roast pork belly, scallops and Chanterelles with a mustard sauce most amiably.

This was Le Montrachet (not sure if Jadot makes both). Very dense and tightly coiled even with several hours of decanting - eventually it reveals some very pretty florality combined with a butterscotchy/candy corn thing, but the main takeaway is its density and the mystery of what's incipient.

Light yellow. Cider and peach on the nose. Incredibly powerful and concentrated. Almost like a big, young white Hermitage. For all its power this wine does find a balance of the elements, and it manages to both convey the characteristics of the terroir, and impress and charm at the same time. Long finish. Excellent.

Charlie Trotter's Farewell Dinner with Montrachet, Brulees and Cros Parantoux (Charlie Trotter's, Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Like the 2000 Marquis de Laguiche, very fresh and vibrant on the nose and palate. Ripe yellow citrus and stone fruit. Fantastic minerality with pretty spice notes too. Medium plus finish with lovely cleansing acidity. Should be drinking great for quite a while longer.

Another Final Dinner at Charlie Trotter's with "Guests" Henri Jayer, Meo-Camuzet and Rouget (Charlie Trotter's - Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Served alongside the Drouhin 1999 and 2000 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche. This 1999 started lush and ripe with lots of concentration. big stone fruit character with good spice, particularly on the finish. I would have liked a bit more acidity, but still a great bottle probably just entering its peak drinking window.
