Bob’s cellar. Young dark red. Rich, warm cassis nose, lightly oaked with a peppery spiciness. Full spicy opening flavours, tannin is present and correct, brambles, redcurrant hidden notes, still very young but beautiful warm old school Barosaa Shiraz. Love it!

A brief note - started very tannic as a pnp. As it opened up the tannins mellowed and red fruit appears, black fruit too but more muted. Felt very young but a good start. Needs more time.

Quick arrival check on a new case. This is sweet and ripe, like Aussie Shiraz is. The wine does not have much complexity now beyond dark and red fruit and oak spices. The tannins are remarkably polished for the young age. What I like here is that there are no overripe pruney notes and with 13.9%, the Alc. is remarkably low for a Barossa Shiraz. I know these wines age well and then complexity emerges. Suggest to not waste your money on a bottle this young but drink this after 2030.

Caramel notes with plum flavours. Big on first taste but mellows as you drink it, showing impeccable balance of tannins and acidity. Very moreish with great intensity and finish.

From 375 ml. Super young right now. Incredibly tight upon opening, so much so that I thought I might have a bad bottle. But after a few hours, this blossomed into an absolute delight. Very complex aromatics, with lots of dark fruits, some spice and leather and herbs. The palette is superb; lovely texture and excellent structure. Wonderful evolution through the mid palette and finish, with constantly evolving flavours. I would call this medium-full bodied. It's certainly much, much lighter and less fruit-forward than a tyical Barossa shiraz. This is excellent value at CHF 23. If I was paying non-Swiss prices, it would be less convincing. Nevertheless, awesome wine that has a very long life ahead of it. 94+

Concentrated blackberry. Eucalyptus. Cocoa emerging. Delicious. Not a wine for bold bbq pairing. More subtle - lamb with herbs, beef with onions. Not delicate but also not overwhelming like some less sophisticated Shiraz can be.

From 0.375 bottle. Deep purple color. Still pretty primary, but showing beautifully layered, with notes of black cherries, cassis, dark plum, elderberries, sweet spices, a touch of vanilla, some pepper, leather, dark mineral notes, some smoke. It‘s pretty full-bodied, with medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin that is super silky and ripe. Long finish with plenty of complexity. This is still super young, I usually drink my Rockford Basket Press at the age of 15-20 years, but this shows a lot of potential and is delicious already. Another winner by this great producer. (94+)

Outstanding, outstanding wine. Starts tight with clear plum and spice overtones, but opens into rich and complex cedar and green wood notes. Extremely well balanced with such an outstanding mouthfeel. Can't wait to see how this one matures.

Restaurant Coravin by the glass. This is all class, even at this young age. It’s Barossan but without the big, extracted, overt oak treatment. Love the minimal handling and restraint on show here. Plenty of enjoyment to be had now and with plenty of upside. 94+

Solid chunky Shiraz, amazed it lasted 5 days in the fridge with 3-4 check ins, no ox, all good, packed with fruit. Great fun.
