Leans more Napa than Bordeaux. Ripe red fruit, with a tiny hint of earth in the background. Not much nuance and hot. Triggers my acid reflux before I could down a glass. To me it didn’t seem like it’ll be great in two decades, but who knows

Released from the cellars of Château Latour in 2022. A blend of 53% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot, 20% new oak, 13% ABV. Decanted for four hours. Rich colour. I know that it's just the third wine, but on the floral and fragrant nose, the purity and precision of the fruit expression, the gravelly depth and the quality of the oak do have something special. The palate displays real finesse, it is firm and energetic, cool and fresh, with perfect weight, bright red fruit and finely delineated tannins. The finish is still a bit tight, but it is juicy and has excellent length. It is priced like a second growth and that is just about right. This is approchable now, but everything is in place and there is no lack of structure, so it should last for another 10-15 years with ease.

This bottle seemed far off what I had experienced in an earlier tasting. This wine is just average, and yet, is very expensive. Just an ok wine at a ridiculous price.

If you don't want to wait 40 years for your Grand Vin Latour to mature, this is a great interim substitute. While still young, it can be consumed now. This was a pop n pour, but we used our stemware as mini-decanters while we enjoyed our bottle of white with the first two courses. This paired incredibly well with bacon wrapped rabbit loin, braised rabbit leg with a pappardelle morel pasta. Magnificent! The wine is already showing the Latour pedigree and is very Pauillac in style.

black fruit dominates the nose with pleasant whiffs of lavender, spice and graphite. quite full in the mouth, the tannic core is still a bit upfront but rich fruit emanates gently (cassis, blackcurrants) and unfolds some complexity (cedar, herbal notes). clear acidity runs thru long finish with an herbal edge. a good decant should open it up some more.

Without much effort, you find its core of spicy currants. On the palate. the wine is fresh, bright, and crisp, with a peppery, crunchy, cassis-filled finish with touches of orange rind and spicy chocolate. You can start to enjoy this now. Drink from 2023-2037.

En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Slight sour red berries showing a little pyrazine and black hued fruits; a little plum, blackberry, green underpin, and a little red fruit underpin. Juicy, plentiful chewy tannins, medium plus intensity acidity, finishes a little short.

Kicking it off with a mix of cassis and lead pencil, this Medium/full-bodied wine is forward and fruity with freshness, lift and soft textures in a red berry finish. You can think of this as a baby Latour. The wine was produced from a blend of 52.9% Cabe

Quite good, still very tight, shows potential, leans very cult Napa at the moment

pleasant cherry though a tad confected to my taste, overall nice, but a bit simplistic. Not really sensing the Pauillac signature here.
