Surprisingly young and fresh. A good example of Barbera, not forced, made with Vajra's typical easy hand. Nonetheless this has good fruit intensity, freshness and plenty of alcohol at 15% - which is slightly heavy. Fine medium to soft tannins. Classic red and black cherry notes, accompanied by a pleasing earthiness. Medium to long finish, some complexity. Drinking now and will last at least 5 more years.

Quite a deep, saturated colour and very youthful. Some Vitamin B on the nose along with liqueur cherry and purple flowers. It is fleshy, deep and layered. There's good volume and some chalky structure below the flesh. Length is very good.

Mogna röda bär, skogshallon, fat cederträ, lakrits. Fräsch fin syra, lång eftersmak och behaglig i munnen. År kantarellrisotto med kalvfrikadeller med citron. Mycket fällning i botten

This barbera is totally made in a new world style (thick, dark, big nose) with little in the way of showing its sense of place. Full of dark fruit and cherry on the nose and palate, this is so drinkable now.
It could be from Paso or Alba in a blind tasting. Please don't confuse this comment with the fact that I LOVE THIS WINE. I totally under valued this wine and drank it all way to fast never giving it a chance to grow old.

My first of this vintage and really really good. Deep dark fruit, Impeccable balance. A great food wine. More than needed for spaghetti with Sweet Italian sausage red sauce, but not at all diminished by it. Cousin Erik was blown away by it.

Overall, a bit more interesting and enjoyable for me vs. a 2010 vintage bottle I had a couple years ago. Was a tiny bit more red-fruited, which I prefer in Barbera. Plenty of life left, but nice now.

A very nice Barbera with great freshness for the vintage. Sweet, dark red cherry on the nose, and on the palate, the wine is very plush with red cherry and hard candy, ending in mouth-watering acidity. At this point the wine is all about the beauty of the fruit and there is plenty.

Sweet red berries, crushed flowers, some sweet spices, mint, tar, rose petals. It‘s medium-full bodied, with high tannin providing austerity, but also medium-high acidity. Good length. A very good, slightly austere Bricco delle Viole. (93-94)

An interesting, well made Barbera. Dark, plummy nose with floral, mint and earthly/mineral notes. Dark, soft and silky, with bright acidity. Some orange rind and floral notes again. This is pretty good, and might be even better with a little more time.

Earthy mineral black cherries in the nose. Perhaps a touch of black olive skin; beautiful fruit on the palate, luxuriously spreads out like a peacocks tail. Very fine tannins, great intensity. A real core of delicious dark and red fruit. Refreshing acidity propels the layers of incredible fruit. Magnificent.

Bottle in perfect shape. Dark and quite dense colour. Quite warm on the nose. Dark plum, blackberries, violets, chocolate and a hint of tobacco. On the palate the wine offers warm, rich and ripe fruit of dark plum, blackberries, herbs and a hint of chocolate. Good firm tannins, nice acidity, medium to full body. The high alcohol of 15 % is integrated well, so good balance. 91 p + Even better the day after! :) I'll wait a few years with my other bottles (5 - 8 y) ... and drink my 2006 and 2008 instead the following year.

With Isidoro Ripe fruit and floral driven nose. Deep barbera fruit, violets, rich and baroque on the palate with the fruit veering toward plum. A little espouse on the back end. Too ripe for me but if yo love round and rich barbera, you will like it much more. 86

Had this with a porchetta ragu following a meal from Christmas. It was a delicious pairing.
Notes of raspberry, dried blueberry, candied violet. A subtle eucalyptus flavor. Perfectly well rounded.
Medium bodied, perfect acidity.
Really good food wine.
