I was given this bottle as a gift, it having been stored in a cupboard in a house in Florida for the last 25 years. Not surprisingly, it hadn't survived the bad storage. However, as a wine enthusiast, with friends we enjoyed finding out just how bad it would be. Better than vinegar. No fizz when opened. Like an old sherry. A sip was interesting, drinking it wasn't.

Golden, good mousse. Bouquet very toasty and yeasty. Palate good. Vaguest hints of sherry. No great persistence. Overall lacking in depth, complexity and fruit character (I know it's the age it is, but the fruit should be there *somewhere* even now). (88-89)

This was absolutely delightful, an example of what great storage can do. Tiny bubbles right to the last drop, caramel color, and that mature nuttiness on the palate. Last one, but enjoyed it immensely

deep gold in color, soft in texture with carmel and toasted nuts. not a lot of bubbles left, but drank very well and was a crowd favorite of the night. i think this was just past its peak but what do i know this was only the second aged champagne i have drunk.

Beautiful yellow colour and still a very nice and lively mousse. Taste was soft, tranquil, feminine, but still with some "bite" and acidity. In all very good and well balanced actually, but at the same time missing "it" (i.e. something "special"). Could easily have spent more years in the cellar; I think I'll keep my second bottle to around 2012.

A medium-yellow champagne. Lots of flowers and tangerine on the nose. Also a very buttery profile. Very charming and forth-coming, although quite concentrated. Long balanced finish.

Tasted on 15th wedding anniversary at La Casa del Zorro in Borrego Springs. Medium yellow with moderately brisk, small-bubble bead. Intense, complex yeasty bouquet, with medium body and long finish. Drinking lovely at this point.

Dom Perignon and 3 1999 Red Burgundy (Yan's China Bistro, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Tiny amount of tiny bubbles formed a tiny mousse, nose of apple and butterscotch, same on the palate, medium/big body, chardonnay driven, tasty but tired, nutty oxidized on the palate, rich, and a long finish. Photo uploaded.
