I was given this bottle as a gift, it having been stored in a cupboard in a house in Florida for the last 25 years. Not surprisingly, it hadn't survived the bad storage. However, as a wine enthusiast, with friends we enjoyed finding out just how bad it would be. Better than vinegar. No fizz when opened. Like an old sherry. A sip was interesting, drinking it wasn't.

Golden, good mousse. Bouquet very toasty and yeasty. Palate good. Vaguest hints of sherry. No great persistence. Overall lacking in depth, complexity and fruit character (I know it's the age it is, but the fruit should be there *somewhere* even now). (88-89)

This was absolutely delightful, an example of what great storage can do. Tiny bubbles right to the last drop, caramel color, and that mature nuttiness on the palate. Last one, but enjoyed it immensely

Dom Perignon and 3 1999 Red Burgundy (Yan's China Bistro, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Tiny amount of tiny bubbles formed a tiny mousse, nose of apple and butterscotch, same on the palate, medium/big body, chardonnay driven, tasty but tired, nutty oxidized on the palate, rich, and a long finish.
